Jeez - I'm becoming a thread starter-whore! (two in one night!)
Mrs TE and I were chatting yesterday about people we have met - specifically those from the site. She observed that I had met many more women from here than men. She then went on to say that she knew that I prefer the company of women to that of men (sorry fellas) and she's right. I hadn't thought about it too much but she is right.
I started to think why that might be.
Well it might be to exchange tips on make up and the most comfortable lingerie but it ain't that (I think confused ).
It could be that I work in a very male orientated environment and it is some sort of escape.
It could be that had two elder sisters and I'm still alive - I dunno? dunno
So what is your preference - same or opposite - and why do you think it might be?
Men, for me.
Women (and I am about to make sweeping generalisations, so forgive me, all SH women are excluded) want to talk about kids; have no interest in things mechanical; know feck all about politics; like to wear different clothes every time they go out the door and don't understand why any one might not want to do the same; worry too much about food, can't hold their drink, not that they drink that much in the first place; have no sense of humour about themselves; hate it when you stare at their tits; pretend they've never done such a thing, ever, if you belch; are too damn sensible.....
... I think I'd better stop.

Well I've never belched ... lol
I prefer the company of women, mainly because I have little interest in football, cars or most other sports. I do love gadgets so I can't talk to them about that. Plus, I sometimes prefer to sit back and listen to a conversation rather than join in, a perfect reason to hang out with a group of girls.... innocent
I much prefer the company of men, always have done.
I'm not a girly girl, never have been and never will be.
At school most of my friends were male, I only had a few female friends but they turned out to be not very nice friends at all and since then I've had the odd acquaintence with women but these have left me not wanting to prolong the friendship.
I'm generalising here but from my experience in the workplace and in general women tend to bitch about each other - I don't like that.
I'm not saying I'm not open to making female friends, I am but I'm quite wary.
There are other reasons why I prefer male company of course, ones which I won't go into here

Nup, just chew on 'em slow and quiet! wink See you Saturday!
I dunno it depends wot mood i`m in at the time, when you`ve been with kids all day the last thing you want to talk about is kids with the girls.
And when the other half comes home from work you dont want to talk about diesel aswell.
sierra x x dunno
I find it much easier in the company of females than males always have done dont ask me why.

I have a great interest in football, rugby, cars, most other sports, but also prefer to be in the company of a woman.
choon,
most of my close freinds have always been women. some of them have said it's a bi thing, which till i came on here i obviously vehemently denied!!! ;)
i think it's the fact that i know fuck all about football, despite my Leeds United ways ((( some would say that's why i know nowt bout footie! ;) ))) have zero interest in cars, couldn't put a shelf up if my life depended on it, and am a bit of a soft bugger who can cry at the drop of a hat. very girlie i know! lol
maybe it's just cos i love women and think they're ace? baby talk notwithstanding? ;)
neil x x x x ;(
horses for courses
if I am up for a laugh then its the boys biggrin
but if I want serious discussion then its the girls :D
its the old blokes never grow up thing
well I gona buck the trend a little really.
I like the company of my mates, who are almost all exclusely Male. We can talk footie, sex, belch and fart, scratch our balls, pick our noses, and drink beer. Now not many ( I exclude vix from the above) women would join in with that. Deep down I am still a "LAD". Now don't get me wrong I love women ofcause I do......but do have to admit to enjoying my friday night out down the pub.
I'm best in the company of men... providing they treat me like one of the lads and not some prissy lacey female. My best mate always has been a fella and he and hubby are now good mates too and he still treats me now like he did when we were 15!
I don't mind all females, but am often stuck for conversation as I don't do fashion, makeup, telly programmes or heartthrobs. And the females I usually would hang around wouldn't do heavy metal, racing, cars or shagging!
Having said that .. I do do "hippy" at times, depending on the season and then everyone round me moves sad

I feel much more comfortable in the company of men,ill always remember being gutted that i had to have a hen night and that none of our male mates could come, hence the hen night was shite but Steves stag night sounded bloody good.
Anyways im rambling but apart from certain female mates i tend to find women too damn competitive over stoopid things and dont often feel comfortable in their company.
I've always been more comfortable in the company of women, my best friends through life have always been female. Have to agree with Clare, she says she finds women competetive, but i find the same thing in the company of guys. Its always competetive - who can drink the most, who's got the biggest/newest/fastest car, who's pulled the most women on a night out etc. etc. Guess i just find women easier to talk to and confide in.

I'm far more comfortable in male company.... purely because i work in an environment comprised of 98% men. lol
