.....I had been celebrating a bit too! 
ops:Well, anyway, the twins are finally here, born in the early hours of Wednesday 11 May. The stats (particularly for the girlies who I know like this sort of thing.....):
Twin I born at 03:11weighing 4lb 11.5 oz
Twin II born at 03:13 weighing 5lb 7.5 oz
Sappho was absolutely fantastic! :inlove: She had the waters on the first twin broken at 4 pm and had absolutely NO pain relief whatsoever until she started having a few puffs of gas and air at about 1 am. I can't tell you how impressed I was
:worship:Unfortunately things seemed to be taking too long for the doctors' liking so at 02:30 they recommended a C section. Sappho was a bit reluctant but we had discussed it earlier and had agreed to go with the medical advice. So I got gowned up and off we went to the theatre (no Shakespeare playing unfortunately :sad
.By quarter past three we had two brand new baby girls :happy: :happy: :happy:
They are absolutely gorgeous (though everyone who has seen them so far keeps remarking how twin I is the spitting image of me - poor little thing! I hope she grows out of it!) and doing very well. Twin I is being watched because her weight is a little lower than they would have liked, twin II spent a little while in the Special Care Unit because she was making a funny little noise as she breathed, but she seems fine now and was back with mum yesterday evening. By the time I left the hospital at 8:30 last night Sappho had still not had any pain killers since the operation :shock: :shock: :worship:
So that's it. All the waiting is over - now the hard work really starts!! :eeek:
