For those old enough to remember when we had evil censorship in the UK, governed by the Government (go figure), you will possibly remember Kenneth Tynan.
For those of you that don't know of him, he was the first person to say "fuck" on British telly (I think) and as a critic, did us all a big big favour by fighting with the absurd censorship laws that theatres, cinemas and authors had to contend with.

OK, OK, I apologise. I have been slated from all sides, as apparantly there are shed loads of good programmes on at 2100 hrs tonight.
This is not my fault, people!!
So, if someone can tape Jamie's School Dinners and someone else can tape Extreme Makover and someone else can tape whatever else is on (coz I forget now) and I will watch my BBC4 prog and tape nothing coz I have freeview and can only tape the channel I am watching. (What use is that?!?)
I will never, ever make viewing recommendations, ever again.
Sheesh! The last one I made turned into a contentious subject on here, too.

I still remember it, didn't see the moment on TV myself, but people were talking about it at school the next day. One person boasted that she hadn't noticed it, as "we hear that word all the time in our house anyway"
. For a while, the word "Tynan" became a substitute swear-word in itself, people used to say things like "not Tynan well likely!"Mike.

Vix, darlin' you want to get yourself one of those Freeview PVR hard disk recorder box thingies...
Then you could record to your heart's content and even pause live TV just like those posh Sky+ bods, but without paying an extra tenner a month for the priveledge.
