Can anyone sort this one out?
I don't normally bet on horses, but make an exception for the Grand National. So I toddled off to t'bookies and placed this bet:
Comply or Die at 10/1 (winner!)
D'argent at 28/1 (unplaced)
Mckelvey at 28/1 (unplaced)
I placed £3 on each (£9) and made it an each way bet, so paid £18.
Now, as two of the horses didn't finish, I expected to get £30 winnings (£3 at 10/1)plus £3 stake money back.
However they gave me !!!
Now I didn't stop to question it too deeply as it was more than I expected, but...... has anyone got any idea how I got back as much as I did?
I thank you!!!
Mal
wink lol
Oooo well done Mal.......drinks are on you :lol2:
I dont have a clue sorry hehe maybe the odds went up afterwards?
Surely this is the best thread ever! :smug:
Ladies and Gentlemen, I am truly honoured and delighted to have won the SH Grand National Sweepstake 2008.
Many thanks to Ian for his hard work and dedication in helping me fulfil this dream!
I should also like to express my gratitude and love to the many wonderful people who helped me on my way to this exhilirating moment but instead I'm going to luxuriate in a hot, deep, very bubbly bath as my boiler's been fixed!
