Well I'll start you off here ( so to speak  ) Being a newbie, I fell into the trap of starting a thread that was already done hence it was locked ( fair enuff too ) So for the meantime, I'll just read and post. Hard to get the creative juices flowing after a night shift and only 3 hours sleep anyhow
I know how you feel tune!
Think of something wacky & it's already been done
Try to do something remotely topical & it stinks faster than mik's shed in quicksand!
You cant win mate...
I have yet to reach that Neo-Matrix part of my brain that will allow me to post any thing of any interest to the SH mob! :giggle:
I am an "other".........
I have definatly killed more threads than i have started........but i am mostly a reader now....

Other (please specify)
You didn't give us the option of "all three" Tune :giggle:
I think two main options when starting a thread here, either totaly wacky or very topical. Hard too know with very topical whats already been done so best start with Totaly wacky. Also if you involve people in the thread you will get more response i.e. my campaign to get rid of the :giggle: emoticon went down well or not well depending on your view point. What it did do was give someone a clear opinion on which to comment. I was never going to win and it wasent serious anyway ( I have a follow up thread to do as well at some point ha ha ha ) but it got a reaction.
I reply in quite a few topics, dunno how I judge succes of this but I am not very good at this I reckon. Goping on how many times I get quoted or anyone latchs on to what I say thats low compared to other users, so I would say not so good at replying.
Hope thats food for thought

You all know it has to be done...
Not the lyrics to Firestarter by Prodigy...
I'm the Thread Starter, punkin' instigator
Im the fear addicted, danger illustrated
I'm a Thread Starter, twisted Thread Starter
You're the Thread Starter, twisted Thread Starter
I'm a Thread Starter, twisted Thread Starter.... :giggle:
Usually a reader although as I get to know more people (or usually when i've had a drink and dont give a ****) i'll quite happily post
*Her*
I had to say other.
After polling many x's, in that kind of insecure girlie "what do you like about me " way, I came to a conclusion.
You see they all inevitably said " you're bloody great at blow jobs". So in a strop I composed my own epitaph........
"Here lies Winchwench, now she's dead,
when she wasn't, she gave good 'ead"
I'm definately a reader more than a poster i'm afraid. Summat to do with living in the back end of the universe and not having much of a social scene up here lol.
Think i'm also a bit of a thread killer too as most of the threads I post in end up dying lol
BSB
I guess I do all the options ,although no where near as much as I used to. Threads that I've started have, for the most part, been successfull if you are basing success on the replies and its longevity (although I think there are other definitions)
Whilst the subject matter is probably the biggest determining factor, there is an oft over looked timing issue, which I am happy to admit to useing. There are times when you will get a stronger response than others, not just in terms of the clock, but also the type of traffic and its mood. If you want to get the response you feel a thread deserves, then assuming that the topic will determine its success ain't always the full story.
