Has anyone been to or heard of 'The Lodge' in Gloucester Docks? Came across it on another website and are thinking of visiting.
Is it full of Russian Seamen? :giggle:
In edit after the above pun rolleyes just had a look about and here is the URL for anyone who might be interested.

Ive not read a negative review yet so seems good. How many people go would be one question I would ask? One of the event nights a dinner night says only 9 couples thats 18 people which doesn't sound that many.
PaulJayne its a really nice classy place, spotless and contemporary. Hosts Deb & Stu are great too. Great to have such a place within half an hours drive of us and we'll be using it in the future. Not heard a word against the place so far all positive.

Though single guys can apply for membership this does'nt seem very single guy friendly!!!!!

Is that such a bad thing? Pretty much everywhere does cater for single males in fact hardly any exclude then totally. Maybe thats what some people want dunno If/when we ever go to a club and it is on our list of things to do it will almost certainly be on a couples night for the first time. There are still those that join up like we did 5 years or more ago believing that swinging means married couples getting it on together. Some folk feel uncomfortable outside of that belief.

No its not such a bad thing theres plenty of couples that enjoy just socialising with other cpls...
But its the.....

Who hand picks these potential social giants that will make your evening more enjoyable!!?
Granted £15 is'nt a lot for a years membership for a single person but then tell them sorry you cant come in on friday or saturday unless we "like the look of you"!!

I would suggest any males wishing to join the club ask the relevant questions. As for us, we would go on a couples only night so not really an issue.

It's likely a low membership fee to act as an enticement .....Other clubs have much higher fees ....
It wont be until later they discover they aren't getting "selected" that it may all have been a rouse .....
Us ugly feckers don't have a prayer really :lol2:

The membership is over and above the door entry cost, so I wouldn't call it cheap.
Having been to the club and chatted to the owners/hosts i think that the singles bit needs explaining on the website a little more, i'll mail them and suggest it.
The idea i gather is that its that single guys can of course go to the club and can quite easily contact the hosts and inquire although the idea is also to get couples to vouch for and suggest single guys to come along so as to stop a mass stream of single men drowning out couples and single women keeping the place more evenly balanced for swinging as a result. Also on another positive note the club has a late night licence and the drink is really cheap (£1:60 for a pint of bitter!) and by doing the above it stops a lot of guys from just using the club as an after pub drinking and ogling club.
From our experience of the place the single guys there were of all descriptions short tall larger guys and slim black and white and all were pleasant making for a nice non intimidating social evening too. Hopefully the result will be great for swingers all.

Think that may be a good idea Lost
They also might want to put which nights there open on there also..
As from what we can see there not a dedicated Adults only venue but hold other events as well!!!

Don't worry about not being selected for the club Steve.

On the main page of the website it lists some Saturdays as couples only but then further down the page it says Saturdays couples and selected single males. They might want to clear up which is correct dunno
I wonder now if the word 'select' will begin to appear in people's profiles?

No. Meaning 'I am a select single swinger' etc. being used as a new line in self promotion.

OK yeh Ive got ya. Wouldn't mean a lot to us. Normally means mates with the manager rather than anything else.
Well, Sappho and I are not very experienced with clubs and want to broaden our horizons a little. From what we have read on this thread, this seems like a reasonable place to start.
