Okaaaaaaaaaayy
David Brent – your chilled out entertainer, top quality manager and gr8 m8 here.
Like the great boss I am, I’m letting you take a little break from calculating VAT on orders for 80gm paper to tell us:-
A few of your fav moments from The Office
What you like about it
Your fav episode and why
Fav characters and why
The scene from any episode you'd take to a desert island
What you thought of the 2 Christmas shows
Generally chill out and share your love (or not?) for my great workplace and office mates and what goes on there-
Love Finchy!!!! Brilliant bit where Dawn is kneeling down to pick up some papers (I think )and he says "while you're down there love".
Every Office has a Finchy....bugga...I think its me in ours!!!!
Stu of the "Fran and...."variety.
How about the absolute classic bit:
Tim is sat having his lunch with Keith...Keith says "watched that Heartbeat last night, was a repeat though"
"yeah, shit isn't it" says Tim
"didn't bother me though" says keith " I hadn't seen it, what did you do?"
Tim replies....
"I just stayed in and had a big old wank!"
Bloody classic!!

The Office shares a rare quality with stuff such as early Auf Weidersehen Pet and bits of Phoenix Nights – while it is not quite as real as secretly filmed real life, it is very natural, with naturalistic acting and so believable and so it frequently makes you think: “Yeah – it’s like that isn’t it?â€
Best episode for me was the training day when David Brent felt competitive with the trainer and kept disrupting and derailing him. Then Gareth took the fox, chicken and seed exercise far too seriously. Everyone didn’t want to be there and it was full of bullshit – just like real office training!
Finally topped off with Brent getting out his guitar …. cringe cringe cringe.
The Office is full of tiny little moments that astonish with their accuracy – like Brent joking and fooling with his colleagues then not wanting to walk off ‘cos he thinks they might start talking about him (look out for it) or when he keeps getting balled out by the new boss (brilliantly cast).
I liked the Christmas episodes very much and love the bit where the woman throws the beer in his face – twice. Incredible and painful but so funny.
Other little things-
He thinks “Finchy†is his best mate but Finch just holds him in contempt!
There’s the time they go to the pub at lunchtime and can’t find anything to talk about.
The moment I’d take to a desert island is when Brent gives a management pep talk, complete with backwards baseball cap and rap music and makes a terrible fool of himself.
I like Tim because he’s so cooool. Gareth is a totally believable office creep and general petty anorak.
Enough for now - I’ll be back.
I loved the bit where he was hired to do the management talk and took the ghetto blaster. As he started he opened the door and told them to go and the cleaner walked in and asked are you finished. Then at the end he puts on the ghetto blaster and plays simply the bestruns out the room and the organiser turns the ghettoblaster off. Classic episode but so many to choose from
BTW, I missed the two Christmas shows because I worked all over Christmas so I could get New Year off and I forgot to tape them so I don't even know what happened.
Anyone care to enlighten me?
Despite his plea for a last minute stay of execution, Brent was sacked from Wernham Hogg.
He got a job as a travelling salesman for a stationery company. It looked very, very depressing.
He had a sideline job, performing at crap nightclubs as "the bloke out of BBC2 fly-on-the-wall documentary The Office". He was crap at it.
Lee and Dawn were shown in the USA. We joined them as they were about to go home for Christmas and renew their visas.
Brent had registered with a lonely hearts agency and been lined up with a procession of women who weren't suitable for him.
The final episode showed Brent slipping closer and closer to the edge. He hated his life and suicide or a killing spree looked like the only outcome.
Lee and Dawn turned up for the office Christmas party. Many stolen, awkward glances between Tim and Dawn.
Brent was also there, along with Finchy. He'd arranged to meet the last of his 'freebies' from the agency at the party.
She shows up and it's clear from the off that she's the woman he's meant to spend the rest of his life with.
Tim looked desperate to tell Dawn that he loved her before she and Lee left the party and his life forever. They were going back to the USA the next day.
A typically arrogant joke from Finchy about Brent's new party gives Brent the opportunity to say what we've all wanted to say from the moment we first set eyes on the odious little man: "Chris, why don't you fuck off?"
A chance 'secret Santa' present from Tim shows Dawn that he is the man for her instead of Lee*. She goes back to the party and the two kiss.
And they all lived happily ever after.
*Lee is surely the kind of man who, if he had an ad on here, would think that 3 lines and an explicit description of his genitalia would have the women flocking to him.
I am gutted I missed it!!!
Hi everyone, i'm new here.
But I do like the office and especially this peice of magic (real player needed) :
Excellent Horny!
The look on the faces of the 'audience' was wonderful

Hi alex.
That really was genius by David Brent. To think it up and then put it into a routine.
I burst out laughing every time I see it.
james for gods sake find your way to the imm=aginary world that is the GFZ
I am alone with many women
Gmanxxxx
Sorry Gman, I'm just waiting for the end of the Critical List on Radio 2 before I put Goodfellas on the DVD. That's my night-into-early-Sunday-morning sorted!
One of my special favourites is when Tim and Dawn amuse themselves by asking Gareth questions about his favourite subject, unarmed combat, where Gareth completely misses the gay-connection double meaning in the questions, e.g. If a man was COMING at you...would you be able to TAKE HIM FROM BEHIND?..etc.
