Hiya all ,
Who else thinks the SH logo shud be made into a pin badge that we can all wear?

:dry: the sceptic in me is saying nothing.....
But the helpfull part of me is saying there is a pin badge but it doesn't have the logo on smile

There is a pin badge
but it doesnt carry the logo - the point of the pins is to have something that is recognisable to each other, but not to everyone who's ever stumbled across SH wink

Perhaps it's something that admin could work on with members input.
The old pins were set to strict criteria around supply and design that probably isn't relelvant to a lot of the newer members who wouldn't remember the reasoning or heartache that went into getting everything agreed over many many months.
Now the site has a different format it could well be that members would be happy to wear the logo with pride or something similar to the logo for added discretion.
As far as the old badges go, I know there are still a few floating around (I think Sarah said NWC had some left?) but I'm not sure those involved would be willing to have another batch printed and have the hassle again. (I could be wrong, it's an opinion not a staement of fact) The design is also copyrighted to an individual and not this site.

I like the ones we already have (and the thought & hard work that went into them in the first place) - maybe Admin may think about financing another batch, and enable the pins to be distributed as before as per the guidelines ? dunno

I don't know if it's that simple as the design belongs to a member, he would have to be asked first before any plans were made.

I am a proud wear of the SH Pin and wear it every day.
Two different designs would be confusing so I would vote for a "reprint" of the original Pin.

Is it my simplistic mind that says to me, why have 2 of what you have, when enough time/effort/and though went into the first lot :dunno:
Then again its me and this lazy arse of mine, I just couldn't be arsed with all the who wants whats etc....
Can't we just leave things as they are... and those of you that want a pin, get yerselves along to a social/Munch, or whateverthehellthey're called these days and buy one off those that have them :dunno:
Is that just too simple and easy ;)

Can I just add, I am now down to around 15 pins as I have sent some out via post this morning to a few people who I personally know and trust. However, I am not going to start posting out the remainder to people who pm me. I will take them to any munches or socials I am attending and if we have any members who meet the original criteria for the pins (ie regulars, been around for a couple of months) then I will sell them.
Thanks for all the pm's but I said earlier, not going to start posting these out on an individual basis to people. I know a few people wont be happy with that, but I am not willing to give out my address to people I dont know, and I would never expect you (as in SH members) wanting to give out your address either.

the problem is that supplies are almost out, we dont have any more pins other than the few NWC has :cry: It may well be a case of when they're gone, they're gone. :cry:

I don't think that's necessarily the case.
It wouldn't be difficult to get some more (with the original designer's permission) it's just a case of somebody being willing to pay for them up front.
If that was a member then they take the chance of not being able to shift them all if they don't know what the demand is.
And if they're going to be distributed at munches then you have to bear in mind:
a) Munches are a lot less frequent than they were last year.
b)Only a minority of members go to these events
c) Of those that do attend, the majority of them already have a pin (or several in my case) lol

That would be my reasoning for (personally) not wanting to do it myself - I could imagine being stuck with them for quite a while.

Besides if you really really want one , why not just visit the`local Aston Martin dealership pick up a bonnet badge and add SH with a felt tip - after all thats where the`original " designer" ripped it off from anyways .
