I especially liked 'The Taming of The Shrew'with Shirley Henderson and Rufus sewell.

Personally I think he was overrated.
I have read a few over the years, probaly Merchant of Venice was one of the better ones. At school, the thing that pissed me off most about Shakespeare was that we were always told what he was meaning, rather than letting us form our own opinions. I can still remember quite vividly the arguments I used to have with my English teacher about Shakespeare.

I dont agree with you that he was overated by i do think schools spoilt his work. The same goes for charles dicken. Will was a brlliant playwright but would turn in his grave if he knew that we were analysing his every word. He wanted his plays to sound good thats why he invented words, its that simple, why do school insist on thousand word essays about it

Well because we read the plays, we all had parts that ran through the whole term, i ususally got chosen as the main character which i enjoyed ie macbeth, romeo, hamlet etc. I also liked that school helped us understand shakespeares writings and learn to appreciate them, well some of us did.
