Let's not be so flipping negative! And it's NOT PEOPLE....Always look on the bright side of life...
1 - early spring/summer mornings - they are always a joy, m. is such a good time of day
2 - long walks in the Northumberland hills - Rothbury Waggonways, Dipton Mill etc etc
3 - a warm bed on a cold winter night - only cos my windows are always open and the house is feeling 'fresh', but crips Eygptian cotton sheets all toastie is bliss
4 - my iPod - it's been playing today since m. and it's giving me so much pleasure
5 - bouquets of flowers which have, this last week especially, brightened and cheered my life.
I only have one:
Seeing people enjoy themselves.
Raindrops on roses
whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles
Warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with string
Cream colored ponies
And crisp apple strudel
Doorbells and sleighbells
And schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winters that melt into springs
wink
That's SO sweet (not!!)
Yeugh................... passionkiss sillyassionkiss:
1) The leaves on my Rowan tree turning so many gorgeous colours in Autumn...
2) the collective trees doing likewise down at Symonds Yat
3) holding a new born baby.... or any baby till about3 months old, and marvelling at the wonder of life
4)crashing waves in even the foulest of storms
5)flying my kites especially on new gale beach in SW wales
6) St Davids in Pembs..
7) Celtic art and especially a little series of books on the subject by george bain
8) being involved in choral singing
9) the silence of the countryside
10) in the deep countryside in the middle of the night lying back and seeing the stars without city light pollution...

OK,
Lillies in the garden during the summer, the fragrance in the hot summer nights is overpowering. something to look forward to now we are non-smokers
Sitting in the garden a couple of years ago, and there was a meteor shower. Hundreds of meteors over a couple of hours, there was a haze in the sky so they all had haloes and seemed to glow longer than usual.
On the beach on a cold winters day.
Seeing the kids looking out for each other.
Getting a christmas card from my mum this year, written herself.

My car being all shiny and clean when I have just spent a good 3 hours working on it
The smell of fresh flowers in my home
Txt messages from Kat
Driving in the dark with the top down in my car (the faster the better)
Sunsets and the sea
Time spent reminiscing and dreaming about the future
The twinkle in Kat's eyes
Christmas morning when all the kids leap on the bed and share their excitement
The first glass of wine after a long week at work
I could go on for ages, guess I must be either easily pleased or a very happy person, maybe both!

1. Showering in the dark with the score to American Beauty as musical accompaniment.
2. Clinique Skin Supplies For Men face scrub (makes shaving bearable).
3. White cotton against delicately tanned skin (ideally plain, understated underwear but my ex-girlfriend also looked fantastic in my white polo shirt). White cotton sheets on a black wrought iron bed is also my very definition of a romantic setting.
4. Waking up next to someone you truly cherish.
5. The way iTunes segues one song into another when on Shuffle.
6. Falling asleep to Late Junction on Radio 3.
7. Walking down Silver Street in Bury on a quiet Wednesday evening with Streets Of Kenny by Shack as the soundtrack. Then calling into O'Neills for a pint of the black stuff and a chat with the friendliest barmaids in Bury.
8. Getting a comment from someone new on my blog. The thought that someone on the other side of the world has read and appreciated my take on life is amazing.
9. Bury winning. Admittedly, a rare occurance this season.
10. Sitting in a sauna with one of the Hollyoaks girls. This is not me in a flight of fantasy - one of the actresses used to go to the same gym as me.
11. The BBC.
12. The Sunday Times, The Observer and Stuart Maconie on BBC 6Music. Just got to find that special someone and then the jigsaw will be complete.
13. The locations in Cinema Paradiso.
1. My daughter's acerbic wit and her achievements
2. Feeling I've done something right for a change
3. The way my heart leaps when something wonderful happens
4. Waking up next to Will on a Sunday morning

6. A freshly changed bed

Please, take this thread and nail it to a church door, a la Luther's Articles, or present it to : this is what being human is all about. lol
