It's well worth it - if you're interested in other titles, feel free to ask me, I'm doing my degree in Scottish History and have my own personal library now!
I think I would have...
The World According To Clarkson....Jeremy Clarkson
I know you got soul.......Jeremy Clarkson
Football My Arse......Ricky Tomlinson
All of these books would keep my spirits high untill I was rescued.... smile

if you watched lord of the rings & liked it i would highly recommend reading the books they are so much better than the films
the hobbit is always a good start a bit shorter & will get you hooked biggrin
then after reading lord of the rings you will have to read the silmarillion just to find out how it all started :D :D
that should keek you busy for a while :D :D

Being a lot more realistic and practical than the rest of you this is what I would take.
Handbook of edible wild plants and weeds volume 1 & 2

Beat me down all you wish, I would survive long past rescue times.
No brainer for me...
it will have to be those Hobitses...
hold off on the rescue please!

lol, well when you find one let me know, I've got so many books the floorboards are positively groaning.
and yes, I find films really do spoil a good book, though I have to be honest and give credit where its due, I don’t think anyone could have done LOTR any better, apart from maybe Spielberg.

What was odd coming out of the cinema after seeing The Two Towers was the number of people who were saying that they thought Gollum was one of the good guys!

They were probably the people who thought the two towers in question were Eowyn's tits...

We also got fed up with television and have a house full of books (im sure that once you put them next to each other they reproduce). Recently bought 4 floor to ceiling cupboards to house them all in. It worked at first but now we seem to be back to where we started with books everywhere!!
Whoever mentioned the De Vinci code, didnt you find the ending so dissapointing?

ive got the same problem bought some new book cases & i now have a very large pile beside the book case,on shelves & stacked away in cupboards confused
i just cant get rid of them well not the hardbacks anyway it would be like cutting an arm off sad
& byron i have to agree with you about the comments people made about gollum but you have to admit that it wasnt his fault how he turned out it was the power of the ring & i really did feel sorry for him,
in the end if it wasnt for him the ring would never have been un-made biggrin :D
For me it would be
Vernon God Little by DBC Pierre,
London Fields by Martin Amis
and
Something by Brett Easton Ellis probably Rules of Attraction.
Maybe not the most inspiring of reads for a desert Island but damn good books all the same.
