The reason? the Council had learnt that this 'Club' was to be for 'Swingers'
A 'Spokesman' said, "Its not the sort of thing we want around here. We have twelve council officers working on how this application can be refused". :twisted:
WHY may I ask? We do not see drunks, yobs, hell raising etc., around other Swingers Clubs, unlike the numerous Pubs and Night Clubs that this council seems to have no objections in granting planning permission for.
A Private Club is just that, A Private Club. None members would not be allowed entry, whatever took place within the club would not be on view to the public. New members would know what to expect to find in going to such a club, so they wouldn't be offended. So just who is going to be effected by this club. Not many I think.
There are too many people out there who think that they should be able to dictate to others how, where and when, they persue their leisure time. :shock:
I wonder just how many of these 'moralists' both in and out of the council chambers have cheated on their spouce, (Probably quite a few. But it doesn't count, because they haven't been found out, yet). But when people who are open about their sexual preferences want to meet for communal fun, then they come out in force.
Minority groups of race, religion and sexual persuasion are supposed to have rights, so far the Gay men and Women have made considerable inroads in liberated freedom. 8) These often have meeting places sponsored by local councils. But there seems to be a big barrier when it comes to Heterosexual Freedom. :cry:
No one is forcing men and women to 'Swing' It a purely voluntary thing.
No club owner wants non swingers in the club anymore than the members do, no one is passing out leaflets tempting people to come along and join in, so whats the problem.
If the club is opened, it will either suceed, thus showing that there is a demand for it, or, it will fail through lack of demand. Either way the council should keep its nose out of it. It's typical of the Labour way of thinking. (Derwentside Council is Labour dominated). They want to micro-manage everything. Finally does it really take twelve council officers working full time to find out how this club may be closed before it even opens. Seems to me like another set of loonies wasting the taxpayers money. :roll:
