Hey Folks ... just returned from a gym session, hard to believe i know, but i managed to get my ass off the sofa, but summer is coming up smile
Was on the stepper trying to work up a sweat to Usher ... Pussy Cat Dolls and various assorted R & B artists on the TV. Is it just me but doesn't R & B belong somewhere else and not in a gym !!
Any suggestions for some tub thumping, foot stomping music genre that i can suggest to make the work out go with a bang ?
Also got me thinking music can really set the scene .. but at others it can be highly inappropriate. Any one got any amusing anecdotes concerning music and an event .... come on make me giggle. May even think of these as i'm on the treadmill :bounce:
Hello
As a complete novice down the hellish domain also known as the gym, I listen to rock music and podcasts. Rock music is good to get me fat arse moving and podcasts (Russell Brand is me fave), are great for when I know I've got a long session ahead of me. I tend to become so involved that the time just flies by!!
Works for me anyhoo biggrin
Its funny you bring this one up.. I have been having the same conversation at my gym.. its just had a revamp and all the tv's now play this stupid feckin trance like screensaver thing with music on in the background.. It drives me potty! They say it looks good? They used to run nightclubs.. not a gym! Says it all..
Totally agree with what you say though but like me just get some motivational stuff on a Pod or the like and do your own thing...
Keep up the good work...
Mike
You can't beat good hard rock music like Rammstein or Stone Sour. Failing that, go for trance or progressive house  I walk a lot faster and harder when I train with these on my mp3
I'm laughing also, when I was at the gym yesterday, "I'm so excited" came on and it really was amazing how people picked up their step!.. brilliant lol
I plug my MP3 on while cycling and listen to whatever Blue has dowloaded for me but I particularly love "I love the way you move" when going up hills or going fast and other rocky stuff, can't think of the titles now
pink x
I don't do the gym- can't bear them. My motivation is usually my TKD instructor bellowing in my ear- works wonders!
However, I do ice skate (badly) but it's amazing how much better I am if some good, funky upbeat music comes on! cool

I've been wanting to know the name of a feel good tune for ages and someone off here finally told me it cool
Zorbas Dance 8-) :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
Even better, you can play this and put the treadmill to good use too - stand on it and run sideways 8-) 8-) 8-) If you also stick your arms out to each side, you'll look like one of them Greek Dancers jogging along 8-) 8-) 8-)
Even better, stick a couple of pom poms to your shoes for an even more authentic look 8-)
As a self confessed weights addict i always listen to the Rocky 4 sound track, its corny i know but the music is really upbeat and motivational.
Have had it constantly on my MP3 and now iPod for 3 years and have gone from ermmmm strength to strength (pardon the pun).
Have a go, forget that its Rocky and is a bit cliche, and i bet you'll be pumping iron or pounding the treadmill more vigorously in no time!! cool
