I did a timely reminder about something else yesterday and, following this mornings "entertainment" here at home and at the doctors this morning; I thought I'd give you another one.
BOYS ! ! !
Check your nuts.
No ....................... not your wheel nuts rolleyes
Your tattas.
Your bollocks.
Have a feel, squeeze and prod about for unusual lumps, bumps and things out of the ordinary. Or better still, get someone to do it for you. Before the someone else is qualified to check them for you, they need to get to know your balls well, and intimately so that they would notice differences from the norm wink
From NHS Direct website
I'll leave to those wiser and betterer edumacated than I to hopefully come along and tell you some stats and proper info, but testicular cancer is very real, and apparently treatable if not curable if diagnosed early enough.
Edit.
To save any more PMs/texts and phone calls. And avoid speculation, this mornings "entertainment" will be posted in the "Things doctors say" thread later.

And I've just found the last thread about bollock checking HERE, but still happy to start a new one
Robbie Williams once did an advert about this............
So girls get feeling lol

It was an answer to a serious post (for once) by Dambuster, there was also something on the telly this morning about this subject.........and any thing containing Robbie Williams gets my instant attention............
However marridemale if you need a hand, I'm sure some of the lovely ladies from this site who live nearer might offer, or try your local doctors and ask the nurse to help!
I already have someone to check !
Good thread Dammy
Well, as a member of the medical profession, I could volunteer my services free of charge to any man who doesn't want to do his own check
Offer of course extends to the ladies if they want their boobs checking too :eeek: :giggle: kiss

Nurse !!!
I can see that there might a VERY long queue forming somewhere in Glamorgan.
On a more serious note, you're right, it is no effort at all to check, and could save your life - not something to be mucked around with. Having lost a friend to cancer a few years ago, I agree with Dambuster - early warnings should be heeded - better to have a false alarm than the alternative.
Staying on the serious note men, please consider having a prostate check done too. It may be undignified to have your GPs finger shoved up your bum ( unless that's what butters your muffin :giggle: ) but prostate cancer is on the increase and any man over the age of 45 should be getting checked regularly.
Stay safe kiss

Definetly good advice to check for abnormality's though !
Whilst I class myself as a typical "lad" even at this old age and can fire off inuendo with the best of them  It's good to see people offering advice and reminders on subjects that a lot of men still feel embaresed to talk about may it be with their friends, family or even GP even though it's of no embaresment at all to look after your OWN health. biggrin

Just been through that this morning. I've posted in the appropriate thread, but . . . . .
Do they have to ask ...........................
"How does that feel ?" while they've got their finger up my arse ?????

So long as you can hide the stiffy and don;t start moaning, you should be fine :giggle: :giggle: innocent
Just a little something to add (and a very sensible post Dammy by the way.) For those of you guys who have had vasectomies using the "scalpelless method". This method leaves two titanium clips one located above each testicle, these clips can develop a blob of tissue around them, mine did and I thought I'd better get it checked out as I hadn't been warned that this might happen and had a major panic. So duly off to see the practice nurse to get checked out, the examination was quick , painless and not at all mbarassing or anything (our practice nurse is male by the way!). Turned out that I was OK. The reason why I mention this is to point out that just because you find a change it doesn't necessarily have to be the big C, but always always always go get it checked out. And I'm sure the same advice applies to the ladies when checking their breasts.
By the way apparently the best time to examine your testicles is when they are warm and wet , obviuosly during a bath or shower for me then!!

I know .
I'm sorry.
And
It won't happen again.

I think she might have slight objections if I started pulling and poking to inspect my balls while she was bouncing up and down on me
I hope the evening shift have read this, even if they have not commented
For those of you who've know me for a while may remember that in January last year I had to go into hospital for the removal of a lump. Thinking back, I can't even remember who found it.
Anyhow, before the op I was in quite a bit of pain, and I had to take a month of work to recover. (See if Dawn will comment on the view immediately after the op).
Having had my spuds groped and molested by numerous doctors, nurses and then finally cut open, I was so glad that it was eventually all over. Thankfully for me, that although my lump needed to be removed, it was not too serious.
The most frightening thing was getting a bill from the private healthcare company for twelve hundred quid saying the company I worked for refused payment.
So saying from personal experience - if anybody does find a problem, go get it sorted!
Ian
ps. If anybody out there is worried, and wants to talk in pm about what to do if they find a lump, feel free to pm me. I have no medical knowledge / background. Just the experience to relate to.

Had mine checked by blood test called a PSA test (Prostate Specific Antigen I believe). Much easier than the finger/bum combination wink

Just checked me conkers but can only find two.................... redface .........is this normal?
Did someone really have to remind the better half that I was reaching an age where a digit should be shoved where the sun don't shine   .OUCH!
Just been improving my 'gonad grip' and my 'testicle touch' against the standard 'sack shuffle' and 'bollock bounce'.
bump
Ooooooo!!
I have a pair here you can play with :bounce:
:giggle: no, seriously, 11th-17th June is Mens Health Week, and I've got some that are well handled :rascal: designed to show you what you're looking/feeling for when doing a self-check
the lads havent yet realised that my grimacing at balls being in my hand is real rotflmao
so glad you bumped this Dammie- this is the reason why we are not at the munch tonight as a family member went into hospital to have his lump removed last Thursday. (He is doing ok thank God)
I feel that its so important to check regulary that I give His a hand myself wink

Nip round, wouldya
I've just learned (at 40some ) that testicles are the testes redface and apparently that's where we should be most scared of getting lumps and bumps. Actually on the little rugby balls that float around inside the scrotum.
But the NHS Direct site confused me, so I'm off to the doc on Wednesday. No doubt he'll be wanting to stick his finger up my arse again rolleyes
