Thrills, twists and action - lots of action.
Oh, I can't keep this vagueness up - it's a film that a certain young lady mentioned the other night on here - a Russian 1925 revolution epic about the battleship Potemkin !
I just thought seeing as I heard of it on here and enjoyed it, I'd say ta on here, thats all !!
You see - that doesn't sound half as intriguing and sexy now, does it ! Have I ruined the image in your head for you ?
Carpathian
Great film...now try Metropolis, it's fantastic!
mmm... Brigitte Helm... yummy!
Not that I noticed, of course. I was too busy admiring the set design.
Okay, this really is bugging me. I know the answer but I cannot find it in the ragbag of useless information I carry in my head.
Who in the name of all that's wonderful directed Metropolis - then moved to Hollywood and became a major name in film noir of the 1940s?
Heeeeelp meee! It's driving me nuts! I'm becoming the madwoman of Chaillot - or North Shropshire at least.
Sappho
You're in luck. I have the DVD here. Directed by Fritz Lang, starring Alfred Abel, Brigitte Helm, Gustav Frohlich (umlaut on the o), Rudolf Kein-Rogge, Heinrich George, Theodor Loos, Hans Leo Reich, Erwin Biswanger, Fritz Rasp, Olaf Storm, and several thousand others.
I think you are referring to Fritz Lang.
He fled Germany and made a string of films through 40's. For some reason , the only two I can remember are 'Return of Frank James' and 'Moonfleet'.
I only remember the latter because the Artificer and his mates, fancying themselves as Shropshire smugglers-despite the fact that we are further from the sea than any other county-, got thumps round the lugholes from 'mam' for hiding in the old well. We country kids had such simple pleasures.. in fact, we still do..that's why I'm on this site.
Happy New Year to all from the peasantry of Shropshire..
Fritz Lang! Of course!
Well copulate with me sideways on a Tuesday! How the hell could I have forgotten it was Fritz Lang?
I need a holiday - I'm losing my small (yet perfectly formed) marbles.
Anyone care to lay me down in a darkened room?
I've got a dark room ready and waiting for you. Do you want it just on Tuesdays, or every other day of the week too?
Oooh, little velvety plums! How yummy. Now just the very gentlest pressure to check for ripeness...
Be careful, Sappho! Don't squeeze those plums too hard, or they might burst. Then you'll be left with juice all over your hands. And then there's all the hassle of licking your fingers clean.
If you ever need more practice, just ask. There'll be a queue of volunteer squeezees waiting outside your door within minutes.
