our tv blew up a little while back......
replaced it with a £148 one from asda......
just had 2 do the tv licence....
reckon its a good job car tax doesnt work that way...cost almost as much as the car biggrin

I don't have a tele (haven't had one for over 5 years now) so I don't have a licence. Doesn't half p*ss off the TV Licence people but there's bugger all they can do about it :P biggrin

Paying my TV licence pleases me as much as paying a speeding ticket , a parking ticket or my tax bill. mad
I think the BBC would be a lot better if it had to learn how to be a bit prudent with its cash and run like a real company. The TV licence is out of date, you should have a choice to pay and subscribe to the channels rather than have to pay for it regardless like the poll tax.

I think you'll find the future of the BBC TV Licensing methods are being revised as we speak.......and about time too..!!
I recently purchased a 32" LCD Panasonic tv...(interest free credit...bargain.!) which has a built in free to air digi tuner, SD slot etc..... makes the license fee a little more bearable....just..!

Having said that, there was an article in the paper the other day about how much tax you pay on your cars in a lifetime. Can't remember the figures, but there is the car tax, petrol tax, tax you pay when you buy a new car. VAT on all the labour and part costs when it breaks down etc. All in all a lot of tax! sad

I reckon car tax should be abolished and be added to the cost of fuel......then everybody, including the dodgers would pay...... bolt
