He has made a claim that is not backed up with anything but anecdotal evidence.
I bet if we dug out a pamphlet from the 1800s we would have someone complaining about people being a drain on the Local Parish purse strings because of the Poor Laws. It is nothing not news, it comes around and around.
Most claimants are honest people that have fallen on hard times, with a minority who do abuse the system but newspapers incite hatred of the many with inflamitary words. This is the basis of Gaunty and his views.......but are they his views or his persona in the paper and radio to sell papers or gain listeners. I am a bit sceptical of him

What a great word. I didn't know what it meant. I even thought it might have been made up. So I looked it up.
Google has no recolection of the word and I suspect neither has the Oxford english dictionary. I know it was in the Daily Mail, but surely they still use English as a language????

It looks like a typo. Reduc---matching---tion. Looks like matching in the middle of reduction.

I don't think people have ever had free speech to complain about their employer in public without repercusions.
If Peakcouple Limited had an employee slagging off your products and your working processes would you applaud their free speech or invoke the clause in the work contract about not bringing the company into disrepute.
He is an educated man and knew what he was saying would be embaressing to his employers. If he has been sacked, then he only has himself to blame. Principals are good............but how good when you are sat on the dole in the middle of a recession.
