I must be far too late to offer any real Sir Galahad help.....they have probably died of old age by now.....but am in East Midlands so never very far away to come to a ladies rescue.....the technique is simple, spiders are like women they love to be taken in hand very gently...no sudden suprise moves....follow this rule and you can remove all...please don't kill them
Beeline (a newbie and a virgin...to SH anyway) redface
PoloLady, I would have placed plastic cup in front of car front wheel and acceleratted forward.
KILL IT KILL IT KILL IT!!!! :scared: :scared:
It didn't deserve to die for its misfortune of being a spider - it did however deserve a good kick-in for scaring off my shag! evil
i like spiders, they will do u no harm, so if your gonna do summat with it ..LET IT GO !!
slide a piece of paper under the glass and carry it outside and release the poor thing, imagine how you would feel if some 80ft monster trapped you under a glass....pretty shitty i assure u.
so live and let live ....... its done nowt wrong....
I found a spider in my pyjama top last night!!!!
You would have thought it was 8 foot tall at my reaction :taz: :taz:
I squished it I'm afraid lol

I am being invaded by the creatures of the night and not just any old creatures of the night - ferkin GIANT creatures of the night
I have a moth the size of a flasher's raincoat flittering around my head, 4 flying daddy-long-legs making themselves at home on the wall and to top it off .... the MOTHER OF ALL SPIDERS has just calmly strolled across my monitor. I am not afraid of spiders and usually let them be (they eat all the other nasties) but this beast looks too bloody big to be a regular house spider - so I am treating it with extra caution and will attempt to catch the monster when I find something big enough to capture it in.
If I should disappear offline for a few days - send help - it has probably got me!

I found this topic while searching through the archives, it reminded me of a few things.
My sisters current boyfriend had been sufering from an ear infection for a few days so he decided to go to the doctors. At the surgery the doctor inspected his ear and found a blockage which he removed. The blockage turned out to be a HUGE spider!
Polo, we all find the countless moths fluttering around bloody irritating but i'm sure you'd think this worse. My mum lived in australia years ago and had a property in queensland, one night her and my sisters were sitting in the living room with the light on when a fruit bat flew in and started flapping around the room like a mad creature unable to get out. At one point it landed on my sisters head, it took them hours to get it outside. Sounds like fun biggrin

News Flash – the beast is captured! (but my shag has gone)
At approx. I get the girliest scream in my ear. I jump up to see what the problem was – as my friend is running into the kitchen bolt shouting “fucking hell, fucking hell, oh fuck, Jesus, fuck” confused .
The Herculean hairy web-weaver was dogging us from the top of the television mad .

OMG Thank you for "Polo's World"
:giggle: rotflmao :rotflmao: :giggle: kiss

She said it was hairy and nasty, not one of those tossers. There was of course a rumour taht they are the most venemous spider in the world but havent got strong enough fangs to penetrate human flesh

The 8-legged beasty went into hiding last night.
It seriously is HUGE!
look at the spiders point of view your 3 times the size of the BFG to it

Do what I do........
Firstly, spray the spider with Extra firm hold hairspray (at least half a can ought to do it rolleyes ).
This stops the bugger from running away or spinning a web. It's like watching it go solid in slow motion lol
Then, smash it with a really big saucepan. Bit messy, especially the BIG ones but problem solved
I know, I'm not very nice but I have a wicked streak runs through me
