Ladies do me a favour.
Im looking to surprise my beloved with a nice gift.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Can somebody explain the galaxy gag?
Buy her a Radley hangbag :thumbup:
One of my best ever valentine's presents was a book by a favourite author, with a lovely inscription on the frontispiece. Lasting so much longer than the flowers that came with it, is a pleasure that can oft be repeated and returned to and is always on my shelf to remind me...
Seriously... the best valentine I ever got was a homemade one. I make cards and stuff and the guy I was seeing decided he could do that... no bother. It was, absolutely without doubt, worth so much more than nipping into a shop and picking one up. It said everything and more.
Flowers, although lovely, they're a big ass waste of money at Valentines.
Stick some romance into it. Put a bit of nonsense into his/her day and arrange to do something different. The fact that you've put some thought into it rather than spent a fortune that you don't have should mean so much more.
The thought is absolutely what's important to me. :thumbup:
For Valentines:
Money = Nothing
Effort = Everything
Something, anything, carefully selected with her in mind.
Something silly and personal to you two alone.
A day of you pampering her with a few favourite things from Body Shop (ok a bit of money there I admit).
I'm not really knocking flowers and chocolates but it's damned hard to make them seem personal when everyone else seems to be doing the same thing.
I have requested an ice scraper for my car if he's going to get me something, so I don't suppose I'd be the best person to ask about gifts? :uhoh:
How about a jewellery or something personalised? Make something? Bake a cake and ice it with your names on the top?
Told you I was a bit crap at this!
Ive got an old woolworths gift token around here somewhere....

Go aroun to her gaf very very early, cover her car in flowers, break in and cook her breakfast then ensure she is not more that 2 feet away from you the whole day.
Then sit back and await the restraining order :twisted: :silly: :bounce:
steveg_nw ........... if you are not thinking of buying the pink laptop that I wanted last Christmas!!! Then prepare for the hell known as the spare room! :giggle:

Oh Valentines the totally commercial day of the year designed for Thorntons (other good choc shops are available) and florists to increase their prices 2 fold and in some cases where roses are concerned (the flower not the choc) 10 fold.
Why do we need one day of the year to spoil our loved one with gifts and tell them we love them?
Surely this should be an everyday event and not just an excuse for shops to make copious amounts of money from tatt.
I personally buy my loved one flowers on a regular occasion, jewelery often (cos i want to, not cos i have to) and please can someone explain to me why chocs are romantic (unless of course its smothered all over her body to be licked off)?
Saying that and rant over, if you feel you need to do something to "prove" your love do something special that is different,something with thought or hard work put into it and not just a trip to the florists or Asda,get your apron on and cook a special meal from scratch, maybe cook all her/his favourites, write them a song or a poem, what i am saying is do something unique that is from the heart and not something a trip to the shops with the herd can solve.
