Vodka Jelly

I am interested in making this delightful dish .. however,
I was wondering if any of you wonderful people that have made it before could give me some tips so I dont totally screw it up .. believe me I will :cry:
I usually make jelly with the sugar free crystals - do any of you know if this way will work just as well as using the cubes?
I was also wondering which flavour jelly is best to use and how is it best served .. ie: in small dishes or in a huge bowl?

when you put the jely melted in the mould you can put in as much vodka as you want depending on how potant you want the final product.
a very small nip is the best option, which then leaves open the option to have more than one later on.
If you make it too strong you may find you have some left over and your fellow jelly eaters will not want more than one.
if you have any left keep them in the fridge they do last

Bollocks, make them as strong as possible, people eat more once they're pissed.
I'm assuming it will work with sugarless jelly, setting's nowt to do with the sugar
Right.....
Melt jelly cubes in a bit of boiling water..... about 1/4 pint, or a bit less.
Once all melted add Vodka to the pint mark.
Stir and leave to set over night.
You can probably get away with a bit less boiling water than 1/4 pint if you want to make it practically all Vodka, in fact you only really need enough water to cover the jelly. The more Vodka in, the longer it takes to set so you deffo need to leave it over-night. If I do all-Vodka jellies I sometimes add a few extra cubes from a second jelly just to make sure it sets.

Sort of hijack ...
Just an alternative thought, have you ever tried Vodka-Melon dunno

Required: :small-print:
One Melon
One Bottle of Vodka
One Funnel
One Fridge
Action.
Cut a small hole in the melon (retain and use as a cork) - insert funnel, pour in the vodka. It will take a few days for the melon to soak up the vodka. Just a bit at a time (patience please)
Once done, pop the cork back in and leave in the fridge until party time ......
On warm bbq days it goes down a treat.

Yeah, melon is really quite gross.......... even lacing it with alcohol doesn't tempt me to try it again :crazy:

On lonely evenings liven up your night with a melon. start with a honey-dew for that soft wet feel, working up to a water melon for that rougher action (just be careful the pips dont get lodged under the foreskin.

My recipe for Vodka Jelly is...
Whatever amount of liquid the jelly mix says to use... you only need 80% of that and from that you then split it 50-50 boiling water-vodka... sorted...

One pint of jelly doesnt normally last long with me because I love it biggrin

As for the Melon Idea - that sounds good but I just been shopping and havent got one .. so will have to wait till next time rolleyes

Well for a party of around 40 people I use three jellies and one large bottle of Vodka. I separate them into a few bowls, let people have as many spoons as they want and they can share it all out between themselves. Seems to work! :rascal:

get 1/2 lb jelly babies
pour vodka into bowl
inject vodka into jelly babies ( syringe from boots or similar )
freeze for at least 4 hours
ENJOY !!!!
