Sats next week so expect my major stress head to rise in the next few days. The kids are driving me barmy with the panic of it all. Especially when they arrived after assembly to find the desks all set out in exam lines. Why on earth do we do this to our future generation? Sooo much pressure so young.
no surprises there then.
i had the worst time yesterday, i was teaching pastry making, 2 fuckingf hours to make jam tarts and one of the little swines was sick over me as well.

I think you should change the title of this thread to something like "moan about your kids here" or something else appropriate! lol
Rule number one when baking things (this applies to the parents on here too) NEVER , and I mean never, eat anything your children bake or cook at school. You can almost guarentee every filthy unwashed child will have had their hand in the mud at break and then in the cake mix afterwards. It will most likely give you food poisioning so strong you'll be able to crack the toilet bowl, stink the house out for a week and convince the neighbours you have adopted a small pony who insists on farting loudly every 3 minutes.
Children sould come with a major health warning!

But on the plus side, your class will have the cleanest fingernails in the school. lol
I would love to be a teacher, I know kids can be a pain in the arse - but the job satisfaction!
I run a football team have done so from under 11 and my last season under 18 has just finished - I'm going to miss it.
Couldnt handle junior school kids though lol
Must admit I admire teachers, although remembering back to my time at school, there were some that didnt like kids! What were they doing in the job ffs.

I had a lovely fruit salad made for me today by one of my class. I was assured by the teaching assistant that she'd made him wash his hands before starting to prepare it. And he went and bought me a bar of Galaxy and apologised for being naughty the day before (stood in front of the class and did it too).
My classroom looks sooo horrible at the moment. We can't use our hall for SAT's because it's used for PE and assemblies, as well as being a thoroughfare. So the two Y6 classrooms have had to have all printed matter covered over and have desks set out in rows - looks awful
I will be glad this time next week, it's worse for us teachers than the kids (although they are very stressed too - I wish we didn't have to make them do SAT's)
You try being in a secondary school at SATs time!  Puberty AND SATs is not a good mix.
And I don't know what's worse, kids bringing me some 'scones' to taste or giving me a lump of misshapen wood which is meant to be something but I can't for the life of me figure it out?? A Y9 gave me a what turned out to be a spatula - would be better off being a spade.
Mind you, there are compensations too. So I'm not going to moan too much about those I teach, their hearts are in the right place, just a pity their ties aren't.

I bloody knew I had seen you before.
Well done Genherts! You do well oh wise one! Very clean fingernails after baking things is NOT a good sign! Never eat it, especially during mini beast season! <taps nose knowingly> lol
Awww Bev, my classroom is set out in rows too, blinds down covering the things on the windows and all the boards covered up. Looks horrid evil We are doing the optional year 5 SATs as well as the year sixes so all the children in my mixed 5/6 class are doing them. Poor little mites are worried sick. Even the child who has more time off than he has in school has had 100% attendance last week. I nearly dropped dead when I took the register! (and I can't believe you ate the fruit! You're braver than I am!)
Jags I so understand the mishappen wood thing. My main subject is art so I am presented with drawings that resemble smudges on loo roll and told they are significant pieces of art work by the kids. I politely ask them to tell me about their * drawing/ painting / scuplture/ random item found on the way home from school / abnormal "thing" that looks like they made it in two minutes but actually took them three months of tlc to craft confused (delete as a appropriate) That way I don't say "ooooo that's a lovely tree" which then gets the stoney reply "Miss, that's my dog and that's (points at picture) my mum" At which point I cue the obligatory "oh yeah of course now I can see it. Very good."
