Hi all,
I've just got myse;lf a webcam, but am not sure whether it's doing what it should be!
It's supposedly USB 2.0 with 30fps, but either when viewing over web or just recording straight to hard drive the picture is pretty jerky. Watchable, but jerky.
Supposed webcam "movies" i have seen in the past (ahem!) all seem to have been recorded without any jerkyness?
Could it be the cam, or is this the norm confused:
(Cam is made by ANC)
Cheers

sometimes the refresh rate needs to be changed though this usually relates to flicker. This can usually be done in the settings....alternatively it might be the messanger you are using.. I tend to find MSN better than
Have you adjusted all the settings?
Hi,
Yep, got the refresh rate to 30, and have tried all the different video settings, but still the same. Actually, it's not so much jerky as watching someone underwater; all action is slowed up, and waving your hand in front of it is like waving your hand in front of your face when you've had mushrooms (so I'm told)
Have just looked at mine.....it does that too.....
I'm no cam expert, I was just wondering... is the image of yourself that you see the same as what the other person sees? I mean you might be transmitting at a high frame rate, and just get a 'model' for want of a better word just so you can check you are actually in the shot. You don't actually need to see yourself at 30 frames a second do you?

When you say jerky, are you referring to the picture quality or the picture content?wink lol

Both the transmitted and viewed/recorded images are the same.
No cam expert myself, so I don't even know whether its possible to obtain the quality I thought you could get from a webcam. Has anyone?
