webcam help

ok i have 2 things that shud do webcam but i cant get em to work
sony video cam - what leeds do i need?
prackitca DC20 digicam- grr put it onto pc mode and plug it in and it just turns off
so frustrating......................help

I tried using video cam....was a right pain in the arse. you should be able to turn it on...plug it into the pc using usb or firewire lead...then open messanger and go to the tool bar and select and configure the camera from there. It is in the audio / video tuning option.

prob be easier and cheaper just to buy a logitech one from pc world about 20 quid

sorry but i have no probs bought it put the disk in and bingo!...cost me Â£45 though but the best thing i have ever brought!
Even though i cannot cam at mo.. wink

if i want to use it for sending vidos or pics its great! :bounce:

I bought a Logitech USB one and it worked immediately with no hassle. I have W98, Dell PC.............

1) Sony handycam comes with a Usb lead. Bit overkill for a webcam but if you have it already! PM me if you need further help.
2) Some digital cameras don't come with the software to allow them to be used as a webcam. Maybe yours is one. If you manual says nothing about using it as a webcam and only describes how to download photos onto your pc, then my guess is that you can't use it as a webcam.
