I was reading my local paper, in it is a name and shame section for appearances in Court
I had to share this one with you all
Going equpped for theft,
attempted theft of cash from British Telecom
causing damage amounting to £50 to a BT Kiosk
conditional discharge for 12 months £364 costs £50 compensation
Name *********** Age 74
Guess he lost his 20p confused
its 30p now in phone booths round here
74 year old though..did he hit it with his stick?
he could have blamed it on sinility! Then again young gits just get old, when do you stop being a criminal, I dont think they retire

People still use phone boxes?????

not if i can help i don't...they normally smell round here :color: :uhoh:
whats a phone box?
Is it like phone sex?
How does it get phoney!
Sorry, rambling arn't I
Yeah you are a bit lol
must admit when I started reading the item I did think it was a younger person, sort of got a shock when I saw his age.
Hey I even remember 2 pence pieces and 'proper' sized 5p's!
Does anybody remember tapping the number out on the two thingies on the top of the phone (used when mum and dad locked the phone hehehehehe). It worked on the phones in the boxes too.
It is a shocker for a 74 yr old, saw a story on teletext earlier about a 2 yr old and an 8 month old being served with an ASBO by a midlands council. Turned out to be an error on the councils part though.
ASBO, depends on what council you live in. Five neighbours unsuccessfully tried to beat me up one night after I asked them to be quiet at on a weekday after my wife had just come out of hospital....
There are too many people out there that just need to be shot....It was a very bad experience
Hes probably having phone sex from a personal ad in the phone box and realised his pension doesnt stretch that far thus taking his anger out! Theres always an explanation to all these things lol
I bet he is sat at home right now ranting and raving about the younger generation having no respect
sometimes I think people forget that bad behaviour isn't just limited to young people.... usually you grow out of it... but victor meldrew is so funny because he is a mild version of what happens if you don't grow out of it.
I did read something once about the number of older people doing naughty things... although its usually stuff like cheque fraud, or other so called softer crimes. It fits better with their lifestyle than running round beating up phoneboxes.
Truely dishonest people are always dishonest.. they just change their methods, naughty people learn their lesson.
if its a box can you pm it?
They're not phone "boxes" anymore, they are phone "booths", a little alcove with a reciever and a few bottons.
Still get the hookers placing their calling cards though hehe. And belive me, Stourport-on-Severn may be a small town, but we still have hookers. My ex is one now apparently.

These were dial phones (made of black bacolite I think).
From what I remember it cost 4d for a call (that is 4 big old pennies)
I wondered when someone would remember it was 4d and you pressed button A. Wouldn't have thought you were old enough though Alexandra (I can crawl like the best of them!)
But do you remember when they first allowed you to dial the number yourself instead of having to ask the operator? It was called STD or Subscriber Trunk Dialling. So it hasn't always meant Sexually Transmitted Diseases. Mind you, I have heard you can catch them by staying too long in a phone box!!
