Hi folks i'm afraid this has nothing to do with swinging, but I am looking for a bit of advice about the creative platinum live Is going to be a christmas present and I would like to hear off anyone who has used one of these devices or who knows if it is possible to plug an instrument like an electric guitar in and record onto the hard drive. Thanks in advance.

Hi Leeklad
This is the wrong forum.
If you are internet aware just type into MSN your search query it will find it for you.
This is not the correct place to ask and although we like a banter originating from various threads we are not a techie support service.
Unless the question relates to servicing vibrators me thinks.
Go safe

My fault - Leeklad asked me on PM, and I suggested he post a message asking for help.

Sorry, have never used this device, but regarding connecting musical instruments, what kind of connection are we looking at? Are we talking MIDI interface, USB or possibly even FireWire? Also, for what purpose? Creating MIDI files, score-writing, sequencing.....?
Well you did ask redface
Need something to drink (not scheduled until 10:00pm) before I go all nerdy.
Let me know the details either here or in a PM and I will see what I can find out.
Yours, Will

Sorry folks maybe I phrased this all wrong redface its not a techie question I just wanted to know if anyone had used this type of thing before, basically the system the lads have at school is one where they can plug in with a standard 6mm jack lay a track down burn it to maybe if the bass player put a track down he could then give it to the lead guitar player who could use it for practicing with lol
I will now go and stand in the corner and wait for the next round of abuse 8)

Like I said - I've not used it myself so I probably can't help. Intrigued about it though - sounds VERY useful. Wish we had that when I played in bands (LONG time ago).
I remember it being very difficult to get us all out of the pub at the same time. 8)
Hmmmm.....As long as you don't want a finished demo type track it's easy confused
Plug the guitar into the line in jack on the sound card, use windows sound recorder to record it as a WAV file then burn that to cd. Crude but works 8)
And we're allways happy to help out if we can.....Us cafe lovers have to stick together.........
See you really can get help with anything!! Well done BG.
Don't you just love technology? Amazing what you can do with PDA, mobile and blue-tooth in a quiet corner of a drafty hall. Slow, but works!
thanks for the replies chaps will try your idea out tomorrow biker
