Thought we would add to the thread and say thanks to everyone for making the West Sussex Drinkies such a success. Nice to see so many friendly people there, we will have to make more of an effort to talk to more people next time
Excellent choice of venue, and good to see such events can be held so far South, roll on the next one.

Finally got round to popping something in this thread.
First off, a huge thank you to Shireen & Steve for hosting and of course Voddy for doing such a sterling job in helping to organise.
Once again it was great to see some familiar faces and meet with new ones.
It was a fabulous evening, although I must be getting old, because I did start to feel the cold towards the end. Dawn, how you just had a t-shirt on all night god knows, although the view certainly warmed me a little.
The best thing for me about these things is finally being able to face to name, and actually to say hi in the real, rather than virtual world. I still get so surprised how my imagination of someone is so far from reality, obviously always positively.
The only thing I really regretted from the evening was not having a good heart to heart with Mr and Mrs DaveJ, only because I knew, if I got close enough I would be feeling Mrs DaveJ’s leg to ascertain if it was a hard or soft wood.
All in all a fabulous night, well attended by fabulous people.

Well yesterday went like this.
9am wakes up with the hangover from hell - someone left work and they had to be sent off in style. - (cant wait for monday to see if I behaved).
10am still hungover, hear Dawn asking her parents for sitters. (woo hoo she's taking me out for a meal).
1pm sitters confirmed. nope, its not a meal :-( but we're off to our 10th munch instead.
4pm jump in the car and head south with only a vague idea of where the hell we are going.
7pm (after a visit to the golden arches) we arrive at the munch venue.
Munch Time.....
Shireen_Mids - no we ain't mad
Steve_Mids - don't wear sunglasses (you look like a panda)
Tatty - you are just crazy girl!
Voddy - thanks for arranging the evening.
MikeC - Remember what Dawn said - you dance tooo well!

Dave J - I think you went to the doc's with a copy of your avatar and said "i wanna look like that". - its uncanny.

Late in on this one, but thanks to you guys for organising things. As usual it was a pleasure to see old facers again and a delight to put some more faces to names. I was remiss in not going around greeting folk and also for leaving early, but mrs davej was froze stiff and point blank refused to wear the only coat that was in the car (my yellow with reflective silver strips motorway type thing) can't say as I blame her really.
I thought the venue and the idea worked well and if it had been a few degrees warmer then it would have been ideal, but none of us are in charge of the weather.
Whatever, the fact that I can now put a face to some more posters names helps tremendously, so thank you all again.

I will tell her Shireen, we did stop at the venues pond on the way out, with a view to cutting a fishing hole in the ice, but seeing as we couldn't find any wood to cook what we would have caught we settled on a McDonalds instead.
Now if anyone knows what tit came up with the design for picnic benches as being suitable for social gatherings and comfort can they P.M. me his / her address so I can go round there and thrash them with a bunch of twigs.
All in all it was a definate success and a format well worth repeating. I shall bring me bat and ball next time for a quick game of Rounders.
