What do you carry?

This is a question that I’m asked quite frequently. I was asked by a very pretty lady again last weekend but couldn’t answer. Maybe because I’ve become a little jaded of late, maybe because ”load security” isn’t so much of an issue as it was before I came onto container work; or, more than likely because I’m getting a little stale in the job.
But – I said I’d keep track this week; so here it is.
Monday morning a trip from the yard to the dock with the waste paper I had loaded the previous Friday. Turn round at the dock with a full load of ceramic tiles to Wellingbro’ Tip, and turn round for the dock empty. Get within an hour of the dock before running out of time for the day.
Tuesday morning, run into the dock empty and pick up another load of tiles, again for Wellingbro’. Once again, empty back to the dock where I pick up a box full of Barbeque Charcoal for a small place between Ilkeston and Derby. Get as far as Leicester Forest Services for the night.
Tip the charcoal out Wednesday morning, then up to Dewsbury to reload waste paper for taking back down to the dock for the following morning
Thursday morning, pick up a box loaded with plastic garden furniture for Dunsterbubble, tip and return to the dock empty to pick up a box full of TVs for delivery to Rotherham at midday Friday.
Tip the TVs out Friday morning, then up to Dewsbury for another load of waste paper for export Monday morning. That’s sat in the yard ready for me to do it all again next week.
So – there you are – 73 hours, 2690kms, 936 litre of derv and 4 nights in the cab at
Bury Stedmunds, Leicester, Orwell (Ipswich) and Cambridge, and £36 in expenses.
Now – if this post has bored you, just bear in mind that I do it week in – week out.
OH ! ! – And the scariest thing this week?
Someone turning out of the services at Markham Moor the wrong way and coming straight for me northbound as I leave the roundabout southbound ! ! ! Normally I would say “It’s a good job I wasn’t loaded. If I’d been heavier, I wouldn't stop in time” But it was a good job I was loaded this time, or I would have been coming a lot quicker ! ! !
Wow...you should try reading this while you're loaded confused drinkies

Sorry, but I just got a mental picture of a lorry-load of transvestites being dumped at Rotherham. Perhaps I need a lie-down in a darkened room.

Mind you, it could get rid of the snow. As the song goes, "The sun always shines on TVs"

I don't work out the logistics - I just point the fecker.
Although; I have had to drive a couple of times this week 'cos of the snow. No cruise control, no electric braking. Pain in the arse.
But the truck does know it's own way to Felixstowe !

I don't suppose you noticed my Mum's mothers day card in there did you? I appear to have lost it and may have thrown it out with the junk mail (sorry Mum redface ) confused It would have been easy to spot - it was with a pile of newspapers, envelopes, loan offers and fast food restaurant leaflets. Don't worry if you didn't, I can get another one.

Bloody hell DB.....you've done nearly as many miles as me this week, but used more diesel, cos mine'll do almost 50 to the gallon (but it is only an Astra estate)..........lol
Scariest thing for me was coming up the M11 before Stanstead (where there are still 3 lanes).....with a Transit van with it's nose just in front of me in the outside lane and an artic with a big trailer level with me on the inside lane, with both of them indicating to come into the middle lane at the same time..................Guess who nearly crapped hinself?...................lol
