ok, so it is early days, despite the fact that all our deleted pms are back, we are forced to reveal not only our ages, but also where we live, and the fact that we keep getting erros, its looking quite nice on here.

i didn't realise people would be able to see my post code when i put it in i find this to very bad taste and wonder what the hell they was thinking of when asking for such details and making them public 
i have always loved swinging heaven and have met some great people here and made some wonderful m8s but i have to admit i hope things inprove round here

not keen on the postcode , too much information there some fruitcake can easily track you down now to your front door , not a good idea there really .
and the postcodes on the photo ads instead of locations is crazy now no one knows where other people are .
plus every time i move from one part of the site to another i go of into cyberspace and gett booted from the site via a warning expired site .
i think a new "good idea club" needs to be formed
why change it if it aint broke springs to mind

Yes, I agree - I think Town locations are much better than postcodes. You may not be able to calculate searches based on Towns (and this is an obvious reason for the change), but I'd have thought displaying town name would be a better option than displaying postcode.

No it doesn't ... and I have pm'd and said so in the top and I must be talking chinese or something because all I get is St3v3 telling me to stop flaming. I've tried none and county and neither work. trying changing your own and reading your profile!
This is in breach of the Data Protection Act ..... it opts out of the side panel on the forum but not when you clik someone's profile.

I think it is a problem - so I went to the extent of cancelling my account on here - although my postcode being shown would not be a problem for us.

At this precise moment any complete tosser can very very simply get acces to a LOT of her personal details, address, phone number etc etc. She is now extreemly worried.
I agree time will be needed to iron out teething problems, but to me this isnt a teething problem... this is basic site functionality and security of the members and things like this should have been tested before the update went live.
Whenever I have done any programming or scripting a mock up of the 'new' version is always run alongside the old one first to make sure the basic security and scripting functions are FULLY functional BEFORE it goes 100% live, it would appear this hasn't happened.
As far as Calista is concerned, being the person she is, EVERYTHING is on hold until she is saticfied this has been sorted. We're s'posed to be going into town for our daughters birthday pressie, that is on hold until our security on this site is sorted and secure. So its not just a case of 'sit back and wait'.

As Morbius says it appears that the postcode options problem is only a problem for some of us. I think that's where the confusion and "flaming" remarks have come from. I've just spoken on the phone to Adam and explained step-by-step exactly what's happening and he went off to explain it to st3v3 so (fingers crossed!) they know what we're talking about now.

under where it has your postcode input on the page, i had a box where i had to pick the village.
when i selcted the (wrong) village, it then allowed me to pick the 2none" option and kept it that way.

and things are being fixed, the options were intended to give you the options you want but it didn't work for everyone, while its being fixed if anyone can't change their postcode or select a town/county/none give the office a call on and your postcode will be deleted. Quote by st3v3
