From what I can see, (from reading glitch posts and listening to conversations in the chat room) is that there has been few, if not no stress testing done on the MSQL sever, no bug testing on links and so forth, It looks like someone has tried to pull 2 websites together the front end of one, and the backend of another and hoped the thing worked.

whats appened we have a few months internet free then we come back to see whats what in the world of swinging and it all goes tits up in a wrong way wtf have they change the site for the site was working because of the format it was given origonally that eveolved through triel and error and aarrived at a formula witch suited it well as the yanks like to say why change something that isnt broke eh ?????? personaly we dont like the look of the new site we lost our add with btw had the only pics we got cos of new pc and all so we aint even got them now ffs we goto rumage through all the discs and find the copys ither that or make some new onew emmmm now thats no bad thing lol as per we all worry whats the charges will be as we know most sites start off free this free that and "until now" we all knes wh was one that delivered those promises will it be that case wen the buisness head takes over and introduced fees for services it wont be long i doubt before u have a teered membership p.s frekkled bird pls translate me crap spelling n punktuation for pple lol xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Why was the photo ads section, with all of its problems, given so much priority at the start?
Was it that this section was the section that would make the "money" for the company and bring in the the new "paying" punters.
Surely the first priority would, or should, have been to get the forums up and running in their new form while speeding up the photo ads section in the background.
Looking at things now, the community of SH, (those who made the site what it was) are now paying indirectly to the company in the form of "help & advice" to help get said company out of a big hole.
Now a play on words from times gone by:-
"The company is always right, even when it is wrong".

It as been made more difficult to visualise a persons location using the postcode system, even if I didn't recognise the location by name, it was a simple task to check it out on the rod-maps.
Please bring back the location by name system lol

the ads are the money spinner. i was amazed to see last night that we now seemingly have 350 000 + registered forum users, which is a jump of about a quarter million since i last looked, as it now includes every single person who ever posted a one line ad on the offchance. of course when we get our premium upgrades, the expectation is that we'll all make use of the new all-singing, all-dancing ad system, cos it's free ((( to us ))) and that will be the primary marketing tool for the new owners.
WE all know that the forum and the chatroom REALLY consists of what . . . 3 or 400 regs tops, and it's those regs that host and make all the events on SH? but there's no money whatsoever in the forum, or a chatroom on a free IRC server that they can't charge for, or in munches, or parties, or anything at all on the social side of things.
WE all know that's where the heart of the community is, but the newbies who will pay to browse the site? they'll see 350 000 ads and think it's money well spent. the ads section is what they'll buy into, and probably most will completely miss the point, and never get the ethos of SH, and never really understand the community which till now has had SH as it's focal point, which is sad.
that's what we'll lose through commercialisation of the site. well . . . not us who've already enjoyed what SH has offered us, and will retain no matter what . . . but the newbies, who will never get what we had i don't think? sad

So if you have been concentating on the photo ads section, why is the women seeking men catagory now flooded with adverts from men?

by an uncanny coincidence, i'm feeling rather jaded and cynical too ice pie! ;)
i think it's all too obvious that the changes made have nothing to do with improving SH as a community site, and everything to do with members now being treated as a commodity. teething troubles and coding errors aside, all the changes are about providing search functions giving as much detail as possible to new members, and making it easy for them "contact genuine UK swingers blah blah blah". we all know how that get's read eh? rolleyes

i pity the people who'll keep topping the search results. they're gonna get trolled to death in PM by new users, who to be fair to them, will obviously have an expectation that that's all fine and dandy, cos that's what's being sold to them!
