What is it with this country?
Do you like England as it was or how it is now
I was in Oz last year and yes it is a great place (can not speak about NZ as never been there) and yes the emphasis is on being Australian. However, there ARE problems there with their own indigenous people. And yes, Blonde is correct as well - trying to get to get in there is not that easy as you have to prove that they need you.
As has been pointed out before, although I see were you are coming from Leeds, our history and the historical facts show that the Brits imposed their way of life all over the world (and so did the French, Dutch, and even the Americans as well - and that is not looking at what the Soviet Union did) these are historical facts so you can not complain too much when these countries impose their own values on their own society.
Now, being pissed off with the UK! yes I can understand that - that is why live abroad. The answer however is in your hands. The UK is more of a democracy than most other places in the world and if you do not like it you have the chance to change it (please do!) or put your money where your mouth is and join the ex-pat community.

OK you have an English man and a Refugee man both in this country. Now English man is homeless he has been homeless for 5 years. Refugee man is also homeless as his country is at war. Lets put the refugee man into a home to show we are a good country.
This is a day and age where there is enough money to take both these men and put them both into free homes and take care of them both.

1) Come on government Wake up who’s F***ing country is this. Do we go to India or Pakistan and build churches in there country and tell them what they can and can’t do.

2) I’m not racist but it seems to me like the government wants us to be. They can put these refugees into free houses with free money free food free education, But poor my England who has been homeless for the last 5 years is still eating out the bins and walking the streets in the same clothes he had on when he was first put there.

4) I’m a bit young but my grand parents used to remind me of when they could leave there doors open and no one would think of robbing them it just wasn’t what people did. Leeds lad I am with you and I am in my mid 40s. What I thonk many are missing is the point that if we visit a country we are expected to conform with there standards, however it seems that new immigranrs and even second generation incomers expect there way of life to take prcidence.
I not only blame the goverment for this situation but the liberal idealists. lets face it even Trevor Philips the head of race equality a black man him self felt that it had encouraged issolationism, this led to him being called a racist.
You are right I do not intend to see my son raised in an atmosphere of violance and a society that believes in take and screw the rest.
They are to recieve the last of my 40% tax payments in the next few months as we are upping sticks and going abroad to find a better life.
Incidentaly I have spoken out and tryed to change things in this country for the last few years but with the attitude of many inhabitants of the UK who feel that theyu have no responsability for there income or life I have just decided to give it all to the free loaders,

This is only one of the problems in this country though. Our involvement in Iraq was to be the result of 56 people all civilians killed in the 7 July 2005 London bombings. Now i would hate to be the one who got that phone call that day telling me one of my family had died.
This is all for what though to make England look good and to put us on the map.

Well- I had a homeless 'junkie' brother ( my half-brother to be 'precise' but i never saw the difference) and Yes the UK (not England) had enough to house to him on benefits, but he chose to sell the Big Issue and earn for himself (as a lot of of self adimtted 'druggies' do) and he was killed for being the ''druggie'.* He was robbed (and maybe killed*) for being the person he was-he had worked all his life ( on the trains) until drugs took a hold. Now, I would love to get a-hold of the guy who sold my brother his last 'dose'and I promise you he would never deal again-but if you think this is bad-try and consider the next people who give all they have to get into the 'F A B ' UK, lives and money seem to worth feck all these days-and leedslad if u think u r not racist u need to think again.

Ignorance and uninformed accusations are the cornerstone of losing an arguement. There's no definitive link between Iraq and the London bombings. They could very well have been inspired or inflamed by events going on there, but who's to say they would have done it anyway as part of the Jihadi struggle against the west?
For your own sake, please be in possession of all the facts before making postings like that. I've learnt from my own experiences.
Firstly i do agree that if people come to this country they should fit in with us not the other way round but i feel that about every country, saying that i would like to ask who went over to africa and took all the slaves? who went over to america and wiped out all the native american villages and killed them by the thousands? who went over to australia and dump all the out casts? who went to small settlments all over the world spreading illnesses.....ermm was us wasn't it?

I'm not being racist don't matter if there white, black or fooking green, there still over populating our country. Leaving English / Brithis people without homes / jobs. Motorways are becoming caos. Hospitals / Doctors are becoming full.
This list goes on and on and it don't take a mastermind to see where this is going. So ever balance it out by making it easy for us to work in other countrys or send some of the foreigners back before it's too late. I agree, if only to avoid an outright war.
Fabio the fact that it makes you anfry probably strengthens the point i am making, which is that if you choose to speak out you run the risk of being accused of racism, when perhaps A you may be telling the truth that the minority do not want to here.
Also surely in a democracy the majority should rule not adapt to the minority.
