I was in Oz last year and yes it is a great place (can not speak about NZ as never been there) and yes the emphasis is on being Australian. However, there ARE problems there with their own indigenous people. And yes, Blonde is correct as well - trying to get to get in there is not that easy as you have to prove that they need you.
As has been pointed out before, although I see were you are coming from Leeds, our history and the historical facts show that the Brits imposed their way of life all over the world (and so did the French, Dutch, and even the Americans as well - and that is not looking at what the Soviet Union did) these are historical facts so you can not complain too much when these countries impose their own values on their own society.
Now, being pissed off with the UK! yes I can understand that - that is why live abroad. The answer however is in your hands. The UK is more of a democracy than most other places in the world and if you do not like it you have the chance to change it (please do!) or put your money where your mouth is and join the ex-pat community.
I hear so often that there are guys in the UK who want to move abroad BUT when they are offered the chance of work, a place to stay and a life elsewhere they suddenly decide to stay back in good old Britain and continue to complain about it!

dear mr leedlad...
in regards to the rant can i point out a few things.......
1) Come on government Wake up who’s F***ing country is this. Do we go to India or Pakistan and build churches in there country and tell them what they can and can’t do.
well as most people have you already, you did..... if you want a recent example try certains parts of spain that have been taken over by the english
2) I’m not racist but it seems to me like the government wants us to be. They can put these refugees into free houses with free money free food free education, But poor my England who has been homeless for the last 5 years is still eating out the bins and walking the streets in the same clothes he had on when he was first put there.
you made no difference between ecomonic migrants and people who flee for their lives.... nice of you!!!!! and between legal and illegal immegrant.. thanks for tarring everyone with the same brush.....
3) Well I have had it with this country and its greed. Next year I have plans to move over to New Zealand and from these who knows. Just wanted peoples thought and opinions on what this country has become.
well it has become a more diverse culture and understanding society......but after hearing your opinions i realise there is still a long.....LONG way to go, the way i see you can either be part of the problem... or part of the solution.... your choice.....
and before you utter the words "well what can one person do" try reading up on Rosa Parks.....she stood up for what she believed in.... and inspired a nation.. god bless her soul!!!
4) I’m a bit young but my grand parents used to remind me of when they could leave there doors open and no one would think of robbing them it just wasn’t what people did. Also children used to enjoy being young and could play safe on the streets. No the case now everyday in the news someone is Murdered, Robbed, . So what went wrong?
And you think any other city on this earth is going to be any better???? I think you are in for a shock!!!!

Leeds lad I am with you and I am in my mid 40s. What I thonk many are missing is the point that if we visit a country we are expected to conform with there standards, however it seems that new immigranrs and even second generation incomers expect there way of life to take prcidence.
I not only blame the goverment for this situation but the liberal idealists. lets face it even Trevor Philips the head of race equality a black man him self felt that it had encouraged issolationism, this led to him being called a racist.
You are right I do not intend to see my son raised in an atmosphere of violance and a society that believes in take and screw the rest.
They are to recieve the last of my 40% tax payments in the next few months as we are upping sticks and going abroad to find a better life.
Incidentaly I have spoken out and tryed to change things in this country for the last few years but with the attitude of many inhabitants of the UK who feel that theyu have no responsability for there income or life I have just decided to give it all to the free loaders,
Life it to short to worry about this country, our life will be as we make it not what others say and legislate it should be
It strikes me that once again leedslad if you try to put forward an opinion about the state of the country and immigration you will be accused of racism. You nad all of us in a democracy should be allowed to voice that opinion and not be insulted by small minded individuals that will always look for racism in what is said
You keep going fella, voice it how you feel it
Fabio the fact that it makes you anfry probably strengthens the point i am making, which is that if you choose to speak out you run the risk of being accused of racism, when perhaps A you may be telling the truth that the minority do not want to here.
Also surely in a democracy the majority should rule not adapt to the minority.
I do appologise if this does annoy you but I and the rest of the population who feel this way have the right to state these views
fabio im not saying send anyone back. Im saying stop this country from being over populated Maybe Ask who wishes to leave the country. End of the day if we carry on there will be racism in this country, And lowering the population will reduce the chance of this happening.
I would say sorry but i can't see where i said a racist comment. So calm down im starting to look sane
