Just run down the listings of memberslist from decending ie latest people to join.
found 200 on first 4 pages and 95 have not even posted into the forums...? Even if you just want a chat, it is better than clogging up the place? I also have seen a few dodgy links via the www. sidlines, some are worth looking into???
Maybe a good idea is to clear out the none users every so often. It seems pointless registering, to have the stuff logged somewhere and never using it except for the odd browse?
Got off me box....

Hi Rocky
I agree there are a lot of people who join up, then rev up and bugger off - a bit like Jomu's drive throughs :taz: . Currently 2628 members, of which over 70% (1840) have placed one or no posts. Of the 9496 posts, over 40% have been posted by 10 people! Having said that, some people only come in for the chatroom or place ads, so each to their own. There are lots of things that can be done to really sharpen up the site, but it's free, Mark has many other things to do to bring home the bacon (or baby milk smile ) and, although has his heavenly fluffers to help, he has yet to allow them to do more because it adds to his workload - which is voluntary. I'm sure as time progresses and time allows, Mark will sort these problems out - and he is aware of them - so a little patience will help calm those ruffled feathers which, I am sure, lots of us have. wink
Time for a fluffy moment :wave2:

I agree that this is a good site, but also agree aboth there being to many inactive posters.
Why is it writen in stone that the site has to be free? what is wrong with having to pay a, small, fee? Where else in life is everything free?
To my mind impossing a small fee would solve a lot of problems including, the biggest problem of all, timewasters!!

I hear what you say Foxy..
but is imposing a small fee likely to deter timewasters? I fear not. The one overriding aim of this site is to be totally free. This goes for cost in joining; and freedom to say what you like (providing it doesn't transgress common decency... make your own animals joke if you like)
I agree that we have an immense number of non-contributors, but most people on here know who the regular contributors are and occasional visitors are treated and welcomed as warmly as those that turn up often.
Mark has often said that this site is for the members, and that if we all feel strongly about something, it would be changed. I'm not sure how everyone else feels about the non-contributors.. but I'm all for letting them stay on the books and you never know.. they may want to play one day.

Does it really matter if there are lots who visit the site but don't post some of us like to contact others through e mail or private messaging. Why mention paying, at the moment this is a free site i know of 2 other free sites who have now started to charge for various things and it really is spoiling the sites. Having a small fee does not deter the timewasters they don't mind paying a yearly small fee and being members of a site that is supposed to be more genuine than a free one. Mark has a great site and i don't see the point of this post.
As a bloke who always sees the best in people, and one who is currently very very poorly!
I like to think that the 70% are not timewasters. Each one of them has at least visited the site and left with a better understanding of the swinging scene.
Some may have considered swinging, but having read the advice and comments decided it was not for them after all.
Still others may have joined, and now be watching from the sidelines gathering courage to jump in. Many of the new members have already said that they spent some time watching and listening before taking the plunge.
I for one, as a recent convert to the positive impact of swinging, would not have joined if it was not free.
Now, I am going to go away and feel very sorry for myself.

People use this site in a variety of ways, some merely for advertisements, some for chat, some for information and some for the banter of the fora.
It's unfair for the fora users to expect everyone to like this form of communication. That's why there's a number of alternative ways of communicating. Besides, quality is better than quantity right?
On the 'free site' thing... I'm sure many folk would willingly contribute some money, that said, part of this sites spirit lies in the 'community' feeling it has. When money exchanges hands, things change. People then start placing expectations on the site... making greater demands on it's content (since they are paying customers) etc. Mark's running costs aside, I think it's great that free sites exist. Part of what makes such sites stand out is the fact that they're free... it's indicative of the type of site, and virtues it extols. Adult-Paycheck and the like are an immediate turn off to many.
Let's not worry about how other folk don't use the site as much as they should / could... let's worry about WE do!!!. We can't legislate for folks using the site for a week or two then moving on.... that's life.
