but I also love it when comedians take an everyday mundane situation and dissect it for the humour content.

Peter Kay: It's spitting, everybody in, it's spittin' rotflmao :rotflmao:
Have you ever been in a school yard at lunchtime when it's started to rain though? lol
Can't remember if I;ve posted in this thread already, but in no particular order:
Eddie Izzard
Peter Kay
Marx Brothers
Bill Bailey
Victoria Wood
French & Saunders
Eailing Comedies
... that's all I can think of right now.
Ed Byrne
what a bloody genius - observational humour.. my favourite.
When I goto see him I always get tortured by him as my laugh is soooo loud. He uses me as the butt of his jokes.. anyhoo. he is brilliant.

I have a very dry sense of humour and like you Fire, I'd laugh at situations or people tripping or being clutsy..(clearly if they were hurt I wouldn't! ).
I don't laugh much at jokes, and I hate 'text jokes' or 'email jokes' I just delete without even reading them!

& Green Wing?
i have been trying to think about what makes me laugh and finding it difficult to pinpoint. monty python i like most stand up comedians i dont generally but have been known to chuckle at billy connolly.
terry prachets book Good Omens really does and i can read that all the time.
Past situations with friends i would say make me laugh at the moment.

lol , yes and Green Wing.
How about Red Dwarf?
Aside from the comedians etc, I work on a ward with patients with severe dementia, and there is always one wee chuckle to be had each day, for example, one gentleman today was having an indepth conversation with his drip stand! I'd love to be able to get inside the minds of a lot of the patients, so many of them seem to have such exciting things going on in their world!
My gran also has dementia and is in a nursing home, and the other day i was told she had been found trying on mens hats in one of the other residents rooms and having a conversation with herself in the mirror- that is definately the way i want to go! what fun!
As for comedians, peter kay wins hands down- 'garlic bread'!!

Peter Kay!
And Maz... where were u last week when I needed you!.. I was struggling with my assignment on Dementia! lol
I should have added in my bit above about loving people with dementia... whilst it's a very sad illness there is the funny side and I've not stopped laughing at some of the antics for the past 8 weeks! wink

awwww if only i knew!!!
exactly! It is a terrible illness, but yes, you can get a few laughs, the good thing about my gran is she will usually laugh along at herself, so she keeps in good spirits, and just in case anyone thought i might be- i'm not laughing AT the patients, i'm having a wee chuckle to myself later usually!!

I've put the episode 'two pints of larger when jannet met johny' on my hard drive so I can watch it as and when. Never fails to crack me up and leaves me with a big grin :0

Of course, I'm the same. When I get home I tend to mull over everything I've learnt but each time there's a story to be had and it's always a funny one.
