The Blues is my stroke.
Just having an orgasm over Hendrix's guitar solo in Red House - modern blues with such expression it brings tears to my eyes after years and years of listening to it.

I get the same feeling from "For The Love Of God" by Steve Vai, I have to stand or sit still when I listen to it, and it makes me have goosebumps.

Never really got into Stevie Vai - will seek it out.
That said I've just had a real mix of Eric Johnson - Cliffs of Dover followed by Kenny Wayne Shepherd - followed by the Groundhogs - sheer class!

Now thats just weird, both Eric Johnson and Kenny Wayne Shepherd have played on the same bill as Steve Vai for the G3 tours  . KWS is amazing as well.

Not as far as I know, unless it was a secret underground gig that only about eleven people knew about, and that was just the bands themselves. lol
Tonight, I have mostly been listening to:
The Penguin Cafe Orchestra
Del Amitri (Nothing Ever Happens is wonderful)
Ben Harper
Tom Mcrae-('Ghost of a Shark' is sublime)
BS

I LOVE Del Amitri, pure poetry set to music biggrin :D :D
I used to be really really really into goth so Sisters, March Violets, Nephilim etc. For obscure goth bands I used to follow Shark , Every New Dead Ghost, Rosetta Stone and bands like that. I used to hitch hike all over to see them play.
Then I decided to try to form my own goth band - with me singing but I couldn't sing in a goth stylee so the band turned into a heavy industrial noise metal dance kind of thing. Did a few gigs but keeping a band together is a nightmare!
Nowadays I like pop music! I don't care about what people think but I like good music with lyrics - Van Morrison, Beach Boys, Elvis, Garbage, Killers, dosn't matter as long as it's good.
Everytime I hear Eminem though, I turn the radio off - what a pile of slimy u-bend sludge!!
Ooh ooh ooh, forgot to say Scissor Sisters and Alabama3 !

So have I - excellent choice. I think my favourite of all of their tracks is "Music For A Found Harmonium"...followed closely by "Giles Farnaby's Dream" and "Dirt".
I have just downloaded Reparata and the Delrons' "Captain Of Your Ship", and also the Trashmen's "Surfing Bird".
Mike.
