We have not been to a munch but wonder whether, when you meet your net friends in real life for the first time, have you ever been disappointed, whats better the book or the film?
Wasn't you, dear.
Look. i'm really sorry but did we meet you? Can you remind us, as neither of us can remember you. Sorry. Sorry.
In some ways I actually find it easier to communicate on a forum than in person.
There's probably a lot of reasons for that. Certianly in part due to the fact that a forum conversation has more obvious breaks in it where you can inject your own words of wisdom or, in my case, complete bollox.
I've been on a fair few forums over the years, but I've met up with folk from two of them. One lot I just didn't gel with, the other lot I'm still friends with long after the forum has died some good few years later.
Well I certainly was not disappointed....justt as I imagined her...but naughtier!!
Hiyas xx
I must say I have met with a large number of people within this site as well as others xx
On the whole I go to meets with an open mind xx
I try not to imagine how peeps are in my head as at times they have been nothing like I could have imagined xx
I do not take looks etc into count when i meet peeps. xx
Some people use these sites to be how they wish to be in reality but haven't got the confidence within theirselves or life has dealt a different set of cards. xx
i think its great to always read the book first then see the film xx
As with all things some are better others not so good but you havew an insite into this person alrady xx

Spirited Away is quite right. How a person posts on the Forum gives us all an insight into how their mind works and that is a very intimate thing. It means that you know the person pretty well before you even meet them. Having decided, from their posts and the parts of their personality that they betray, that you like someone meeting is merely a confirmation of what you have been thinking. The people I have met at Munches and such like in the past have all been every bit as wonderful in the flesh as they have been in the Forum and are now some of my dearest friends. Sappho and I were desperately disappointed not to have made it to the Notts munch and make some new acquaintances.
Sappho and I both joined the Forum last November (so we have just had our SH anniversary) and met each other for the first time in January. We already knew that we were on exactly the same wavelength as each other and had high hopes of our meeting. It was a scary thought that things might be more than a little disappointing. In fact nothing could be further from the truth and look what happened  :inlove:
Will
I have gone on and on again, haven't I?
:P As with all books I turn to the synopsis on the inside sleeve. The glimpses we get of the personalities on the forum are pretty revealing in themself. And yes, the pictures posted after munches and parties give a fair idea too. Got to admit my original impression of some people cancels out the *first impressions are lasting impressions* school of thought.
For me so far the film has pretty much matched the book
Though I did meet someone who exceeded all expectations. We're talking *move over Brad Pitt* here.
If you're coming to Blackpool you'll see what I mean
