That sounds fantastic!
MRs HC saw him not so long a go when he did an open air concert near York, and said he was brilliant.

I would not thought of going myself but got taken along and I was soo excited with all the glits of it I nearly peed my pants biggrin x
Well We are off to St Petersburg next year to see Depeche Mode so hope thats going to be our best concert ever smile
For me it has to be Wet Wet Wet on 1st July at Stirling Castle.......but then again The Eurythmics did a fantastic show back in the 80's.....or maybe Wham at the Apollo in Glasgow....or their show at Ingliston(ok, so I was a Wham-ette at the time).....oh God, the pressure....what was my favourite??? biggrin :D :D :D :D
(Mia faints with the memories of all the gigs she has been to - her wee brain cant work at this time of the day)
I also saw erasure a few times in the late 80's, early 90's.. Now they really knew how to put on a show...
Wolvie....I am sooooo jealous!! I love Erasure, and would give my right arm to go see them, but unfortunately Sam, my family and friends all hate them so I've no-one to go see them with. sad

1981, Milton Keynes Bowl, The Police, Squeeze & UB40 .... what a gig!!!
It pissed down all day and the Bowl was turned into a giant mud bath ....... you should have seen the state of my dad's car when he came to pick us up ... hehehe.
Simple Really Pink Floyd - October 29th 1994 at Earls Court.
Total mind stopping!
if you haven't already got it, go and buy the double CD Pulse, that was the recording made that night.
oh and Judas Priest - British Steel Tour, Birmingham Odeon (Rob Halford is a god!)
Genesis. Calling all stations tour 97. The one that the tank top wearing bald Drummer didn't appeaer on. I thought Ray wilson was excellent and the album was very under rated.
Robbie Williams. Manchester 2001. The guy is the ultimate Show man.
Meat Loaf. Several times. The only guy ever worthy of singing Steinmans masterpieces.
INXS. Summer XS. wembley 91. What a day.
INXS. Manchester arena 97. Still sounding great but a tragedy was just a few months away.
OK - i have to admit that I have never ever been to a concert !!!! (and I am 45 yrs old !!!) However, that is all about to change soon as I am off to see................................................................Donny Osmond!!! Yes thats right - am off to see Donny, who I have been in love with for many many years now. Myself and HornyOldTart are going to see him in Notts - so we will let you know all about our 3 some with him (we wish lol )
been to many concerts but it made me remeber a band i saw in gloucester called the
" SHY TEDS"
had to go because i wanted to see if it was a clever name or they just were SHITE TEDS!!!
but hey they were brilliant
ste biggrin
Sure that this one has been done before but....
Me and Mrs CCR saw Simply Red a few years back and they were fantastic. However, they were topped by Earth Wind and Fire (OMG showing my age now lol). Saw them 3 times. Fantastic show, musicianship beyond belief and sounded incredible live. Not yet seen anyone to top them.
Mr CCR
IRON MAIDEN at the nec with anthrax as support in the late 90's... anthrax are so much better live than their records!
The old god of rock, Alice Cooper at the nec on the poison tour.
I never did get to see queen live... something I always regret.
U2 MK bowl
awsome
Had to bring this thread back because of a gig I went to last night. I braved the cold and travelled to the Bristol Carling Academy to see the amazing Alter Bridge. The first support band, Logan, were pretty good, kind of a cross between Nickelback and Creed, highly recommended. The next support band, The Answer, were trying far too hard to be Led Zep, so I wasn't too keen on them. But Alter Bridge, once again, blew me away: amazing vocals, stunning guitar work, and brilliant bass and drums. By the end of the night my throat was raw after singing along to all of their songs, and I left with a big smile on my face biggrin
Glad u did mag honey.......my best has been electric 6 lol just as gaybar was in the charts lol...great band and i had a good chat with them after...bloody lovely people....
But i so want to go to download...money is the only thing holding me back...my daughter would come and love it she loves live music bless her....mind u she just loves music lol
Oasis - 2nd July - Manchester
Missed this one first time round...
I think mine would be REM at Glastonbury 1999. I lost my friends in my efforts to get to the front, and suddenly found myself alone, three people back from the stage as they started 'Losing My Religion.' It was just one of those moments when you really feel like you understand why you're here. I stood with tears running down my cheeks, grinning like mad, and looked round to see that everyone around me was in the same state.... a guy behind me put his arm around me, I grabbed the hand of the woman next to me, and about twenty of us had a 'Glastonbury moment.'
Beautiful.
This year the best concert so far has been te Hamsters with Wilko Johnson and John Ottway in the Cicic Centre in St Albans on their Mad, Bad and Dangerous tour . Close second is Walter Trout at the Astoria London. Levellers are yet to come.
The best in recent years gas to the Alabama 3, 2003, Asoria.
From the distant past:
Rory Gallagher - Cork City Hall 1974
Thin Lizzy - Reading - 1977
Steve Hillage - Rainbow London - 1979
I know its not pc to mention him these days but would have to be Wacko Jacko on his 'Bad' Tour at Wembley in the 80's - was only young at the time but remember being spellbound.

Saw that one with some 18 year old female student on my shoulders, a complete stranger she was, but not for long smile
Also how about Nirvanas first Reading appearance (1991?) before they got massive, just as Nevermind was released, they were up mid Sunday afternoon

Beautiful.

Two of my friends went to see REM in Hyde Park earlier this year, when they played "Everybody Hurts" one of my friends started crying as were most of the crowd
As you may gather from the following, music is my addiction.
I've seen in no particular order:Led Zep,Deep Purple(5 times in the 70s),Yes,Black Sabbath,Ten Years After("Who?????I" hear you say),The Stones(3 times, again in the 70s when they were top),Pink Floyd(twice)BB King(twice),Buddy Guy(Do not miss Buddy if you get the chance,he is awesome.),Dr John(Again,go goddammit,a brilliant night),U2(when they were a decent rock band----controversial biggrin ),Big Country,Hall&Oates(God John you look strange without the 'tache),Deacon Blue,Del Amitri,John Lee Hooker,The Sensational Alex Harvey Band,Queen(In '75,again when they were a decent band----just my opinion),Status Quo(surprisingly a fucking fantastic night out----twice)Peter Green and the Splinter Group(The founder of Fleetwood Mac,when they were known as Peter Greens Fleetwood Mac,still an awesome guitarist despite his problems),Fun Lovin' Criminals(terrible sound production, left after half an hour),Chris Rea( on his blues tour last year, great)and the sublime Bonnie Raitt(again last year)and Herbie Hancock(twice----awesome,but not for the uninitiated----be way toooooooooo strange for non-jazzheads).Plus a few more I cant think yeah, John Mayall too.
So How am I supposed to pick one of these as the best????
Spins round and bursts into flames in confusion.
Live music is just simply one of the best experiences there is.
But sadly I never got to see Stevie Ray Vaughan,he died 2 weeks before the gig I was going to.I kept the tickets and am heartbroken to this day.
Another,ELP,but should I admit to this.
Going to see Bonnie again next you like totally brilliant music and genius guitar playing check her out. :D :D :D
Mr outlaw you saw the Allmans in the 70s????I am sooooooooooo gonna go put "Live at The Fillmore on"to console myself a little.
1987, Rock city, I saw a little heard of band........ first time in the uk, their music didn't just rip ya balls off, if force fed them back to you as well....... Then Appetite for Destruction was released and guns n roses became an overnight household name.......what a show
eagles at wembley stadium in 96 awesome
