Whats the best concert youve ever been too ?
ok, since i was about 19 (33 now) ive worked with a few bands - noone famous, just pub bands, but there was this one time . . .
it was 97, my mates band, called Changing Man, had recently done a short live set at Virgin Radio, and were buzzing. the landlord of the singers local asked him if they could do a gig for him, so as it was weather like we're getting this week, we decided to use the flat roof at the back of the pub - nice open beer garden in frint of us
well, it started like any other gig, plenty of there own songs, a few pub-gig standards, and the usual reactions - but when they started strawberry fields forever, the whole crowd just stopped - ive been to a LOT of gigs over the years, and i still have not seen it since, every single person there was instantly with the band - was the most amazing feeling!
after the gig, the singer said 'if that was the last gig i ever played - im ahappy man!'

hmmm best concert, has to be the english symphony orchestra, playing an open air concert on the lawns of an old country house in worcestershire. where we just set out a picnic on the grass and enjoyed the lubbly music

An open air concert on Easter Monday, April 20th 1992 at London's Wembley Stadium, televised live to over one billion people. The profit of the concert was used to launch The Mercury Phoenix Trust.
In February 1992 at the annual BRIT awards ceremony, Brian May and Roger Taylor announced plans for an open air concert to celebrate Freddie Mercury's life. The tickets went on sale the next day and all 72,000 tickets sold out in just six hours, even though nobody knew who would play apart from remaining members of Queen.
This show marked bassist John Deacon's final concert with the band.
In April 2002 the concert was released on DVD and entered the UK charts at number 1.

Also, when the concert aired on MTV, U2 dedicated a live performance via satellite from California of "Until The End Of The World" to Freddie.

Anyway one of my favourite concerts was the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert at wembley (
:2fingers: to Poly40 ) and the other was ELTON JOHN last month at the reebok in bolton......... as i went along expecting E.J. to just sing a few old songs and be average, but what i got ( after LULU had nearly put me to sleep :yawn: ) was at least a good couple of hours of a pure rock and roll LEGEND giving a lot of the newer bands a run for there money.............FFS i sound like me DAD 
But i hope that Coldplay will be a good one a week on monday ( :2fingers: :flipa: to Poly40 again )
