Um, please dont anybody take this the wrong way or anything...............
I was just wondering, whats the difference between a TV and a CD??? I know i've been on here a while now, but its been bugging me for ages and i didnt want to appear silly or rude or offensive by asking!!!!
Sorry if this upsets anyone, but i would rather ask and understand than still be in the dark and look stupid if i said something out of line!!!!
Sorry Daz and Lou, I don't know the answer to that - I'll be intrigued to see the answers to your question too. But may I use this thread to ask something that's puzzled me? Sometimes people on this site describe themselves as "very bi". How can someone be "very bi"? Surely they're either bi or they're not?
Mike. (who's not)

I'm guessing that "very bi" means that they will do much more then someone who is "slightly bi".
Use your own imagination on that one wink
Mmmm, I think Eddie Izzard would describe himself as a Cross Dresser. confused :?
Daz and Lou, I did a search for the difference between "transvestite" and "crossdresser". There seems to be little or no difference between the two terms, some prefer one, some the other. A website called had a list of terms, and described "crossdresser" as "a polite term for transvestite". Perhaps "transvestite" is becoming a bit derogatory, I don't know - "crossdresser" does seem a bit milder. I hope we hear from some of the people who describe themselves with these terms, I'm only guessing!
Mike.
In fact, I was a Cross Dresser this morning. The kids got me up really early and I was so angry when I was getting dressed........... lol    rolleyes
I bet you were ratty...or Ratty!
Mike.
Hmmmmmmmm. I was just wondering if there WAS a difference, wheres JudyTV and RebeccaTV when you need them!! dunno
A TV (television) has a screen on the front and is used to watch moving pictures with audio. Whereas a CD (compact disc) is a circular disc containing digital data, commonly used to store music.
I'll get me coat rolleyes

He's always said it's more like "a tomboy lesbian trapped in a mans body"

All discs are circular - tautology, correct challenge and a bonus point to me.
Mike.
Not sure, but I would've thought they are the same, except TV is the latin version and CD is the anglo-saxon.
Isn't very Bi- meant to imply that one doesn't get off unless it is bisexual as opposed to Bi- which implies it is optional? Only guessing.
I'd never thought on it before - but TV and CD are different to me - and I like the distinction between one being a man dressed as a woman, and the other a man trying to look like a woman. Not sure how any CDer or TV would think about that though confused It may also indicate the difference between dressing up in private and in public.
I suppose the answer is - if in doubt - ask.
As for bi and very bi - I agree with TE.

Hmmmmmmm. Well, i dont think the bi thing makes a difference actually, either way you're bi!!!!

Ah but the disk that has the data on it is. It is just the covering for protection that isn't circular. It could be like a CD in a CD case.....

I know that, and you know that Matt ................. but if you did a survey amongst the general public, and asked them the shape of a floppy disc - i bet 75% of them would say square

You can however get them little square ish CD's. They use them for business cards, you can keep the corporate web page, company info etc on them. These are business card shape with rounded corners. Would this be classed as a disk?

Ah, but Lucy, "a floppy disc" to me is just a disc that is floppy. Now if you "floppy disk", that's different.
Dictionary definition of disc: A thin, flat, circular object or plate.
Mike.
HELLO?????
This is a serious thread, stop hi-jacking it!! i want to know about Cross Dressers and Transvestites, not bloody discs!!!
(Lou goes off in a strop mumbling to herself)
Sorry Lou, no more irrelevant discussion, I promise.

There is a world of difference between engaging in the occasional bit of mutual hand shandy with another bloke while you are both watching a girl and being equally happy doing the dirty with any human orifice you are offered.
Don't forget there are blokes who run scared from having another naked man in the room, while you categorise yourself as "not" bi, you are arguably 'more bi' than them, and there is definitely nothing to be ashamed about that!
There probably is a difference between TVs and CDs that I should take more seriously, but I tend (probably wrongly) to use the terms inter-changably. When I use the terms to describe a particular individual, I use the term that that individual feels more comfortable with. So, if someone calls themself a tranny I would describe them as a TV. If I don't don't what term they use, I usually stick with cross-dresser as I know some folks don't like the term TV, tranny, or transvestite. Complicated, ain't it! Even more complicated when we bring TSs into the equation, so let's not at this moment in time wink
The Bi issue is even more complicated. Satin and I advertise for "experienced" bi guys, we do that to try to make the distinction between those who are really into bi sex and those that are just curious - the latter tend to be a nightmare when it comes down to it rolleyes . The distinction we are making is in behaviour, nothing to do with identity really. Mike (was it Mike who said it?) is right in saying (if he did) that you're bi or you're not, in that you either fancy members of both sexes or you don't. However, some are more bi than others in behavioural terms - so you could say that Jim is more bi than Stan cos Jim has had 20 same sex lovers while Stan has only had one. Then you have the problem of someone who knows they're bi but won't admit it, those that know they're bi, want to do the deed but don't for whatever reason, and those that have fleeting bi arousal throughout their lives but don't really care too much about it anyway. All are bi in some sense.... the mind boggles. See, the measurement of sexual orientation is very difficult - do you measure desire, identity, intention, or behaviour? Answers on a post card please.
