Oh, thats nice that is!.....now as it happens I'm still bloody 20 years away from me bus pass and I don't want one anyways.............I ain't getting on no bus with.......with......the public! oh no scary people are the public!
I will have you know young lady, that I've lead a cosseted life, where the smells of ground coffee, leather and fresh flowers, fill each of my days. Where the people that surround me are dressed in finely tailored clothes and who gently write notes into personalised diaries with Mount Blanc pens and you want me to get on a bus with .....well......people
.....davej who is gonna have some toast with sugar on it, now that the breakfast rush at the motorway services is over and he has no more tables to clear.......
Mashed potato, hotdog sausages onions and cheese all mixed together with black pepper.
God I am soooooooooooo hungry now.

Yep, I remember that - yummy straight from the jar.
Davej, my mum used to eat condensed milk sandwiches confused
On toast, I like :
herring roes, fried with onion and mushrooms. Yummy. Have to eat that when nobody else is in though, because they all hate the smell of it rolleyes

Not bloody milk Chardinnay.....condensed milk, different stuff altogether it's about as thick as jam and very sweet.
Shireen smackbottom ...davej who got another year older last weekend and isn't enjoying it.

If your talking about that stuff in a tin, nestle i think that my mum poured over fruit when i was a kid ours wasnt as thick as jam......... on nooooooo was it off
No Chardonnay I think we are talking about diffrent stuff, Freckledbird remembers her mum eating it as a sandwich filler so it is spreadable, I reckon I might be telling a fib when I say it's as thick as jam, so lets say it's as thick as warm jam, which as you know is thinner than cold jam...anyways get yourself a tin and try it....bloody sure it's called condensed, used to have a picture of a goat on the tin.
Anyways, don't forget the castor sugar thats real tasty on a hot buttered slice......mind you pretty damn good just sprinkled on a slice of bread and butter.
Chardonnay I think you might mean evaporated milk. Condensed milk is different, it's thicker and spoonable. The one my mum used to eat was called Fussell's. She used to eat sugar sanwiches too...yuk!
1. Lancashire Cheese, melted and bubbly but without burning the crust of the toast... anyone able to manage this??
2. Honey. Thick slice of proper bread is best.
3. Heinz Beans .... well done and nicely soaked in.
Tuna and sweetcorn

on white toast: pix stix sugar, pop rox and Cap'n Crunch cereal (snog if you guess the movie that's from)
on wholemeal (or wholewheat if you're american): Marshmallow Fluff & Honey
When I was at junior school the most popular sandwich children liked was sugar sandwiches and there was a complete nutter who used to eat bubblegum on toast.
sorry gotta be marmite but i like marmite with anything lol or marmite and cheese :P

faced with an ever depleting selection of toast type additives in my fridge i feel i need assistance. So I thought I would ask if there are any alternatives to Marg/Butter and Jam/Marmalade. That one would find in the average household
Orph

Women. They go well with any meal because they're very tasty.
Take 2 eggs, crack them into a mixing bowl and wisk well with a fork, making sure to get plenty of air into them. Then take a couple of good handfulls of strong grated cheddar into the bowl and fold it in. Season with a dash or two of Lea & Perrins, some ground pepper and a splash of chilli sauce to give it a bit of bite.
Take some bread and toast one side under the grill, remove and flip the bread over to the untoasted side. Cover the untoasted side with the egg/cheese mixture, ensuring the bread is fully covered, right up to the edge and return to the grill until golden brown.
This is a wonderful midnight snack, as the egg kind of souffles up when it cooks. Yum.
Can't believe nobody mentioned sausages. Sausages on toast with tomato ketchup and lots of butter. I like sausages.
Sardines in tomato sauce.......yummy!!!
I've done the marg and vinegar on bread as a student, in them desperate times. Shall i get some food in or go out tonight????????
