What with all the amazing bars and bar people nowadays, there are always so many fresh and exciting new drinks about. I thought that we could all share our favourites here, along with a recipe if known....
My favourite isnt new but an old classic.. THE MOJITO
frosted glass
crush some mint leaves and loads of ice and quarter of lime
add sugar syrup
measure havana club rum
top up with soda water
gorgeous
Mmmmmmmm cocktails
Not sure what it's called, but got to the point where friends and I were getting through 6 pints of the stuff back at my place - after the pubs shut!!
Baileys
Vodka
Kahlua
Milk to make it a long drink
Ice
Oooo - that's a mudslide, Misschief!
My favourite too!! biggrin
Ale, White wine, cider, whisky, vodka confused
I'm sure you can make an interesting cocktail with these! biggrin :D
take a frosted long glass
and pour stella gently down the side just quick enough to form a slight head.
and serve.
aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh.
yum
I like 'mixes': here's my favourite
Take 1 bottle Australian Merlot; 1 bottle French Merlot; 1 bottle Chilean Merlot.
empty into large milking bucket and leave to warm to room temperature.
Place head over bucket, sniff bouquet.....draw back across tongue.....look for chocolate, ripe plums and the softest of tannins.....
.....immerse head in bucket and suck until headaches and worries regarding mortgage disappear..
rotflmao :rotflmao: :rotflmao:
Harvey Wallbanger
1 oz Vodka
1/2 oz Galliano
4 oz Orange juice

Mixing instructions:
Pour vodka and orange juice into a collins glass over ice cubes and stir. Float Galliano on top and serve.
The greatest cocktail in the world - actually better made not with fresh orange juice, but the multi-juice concentrates that require refrigeration and with the galliano lightly stirred through.
A black russian in a tall glass!!
Tall glass full of ice, large gin, pink grapefruit - I'm happy
Don't use concentrate juice though - yuk
mmmmmmm mine is a multiple screaming orgasm every time wink
Take a warm wife, gently fill navel with cold champagne, refill navel
(Wife usually in hysterics by this point and spills champagne) rolleyes
recover every last drop
As a youth, we came up with our own cocktail of sorts;
Diamond white cider mixed with
half a can of tenents super lager
a shot of pernod and a dash of
blackcurrant cordial
It didn't taste to bad and it sure got you out of your head quick. confused
As for now i do like a (cheaper) whisky and peppermint. but i never spoit a good whisky by adding a mixer.
One drink i want to try but always forget is a babysham mixed with cherryB, now that's one classy drink lol
When I wae growing up .Oops I mean younger
Little Boy "Mummy when I grow up I want to be a man"
Mother " Dont be silly son you cant do both"
Sorry I digress. When I was younger living in the sleepy backwater of Warwickshire there was a local brewery called Judges who made the most glorious bitter. Sadly no longer with us.
Actually brown beer does seem to be making a comeback. Oh no people will think I am an infiltrator from camra Help
Take the juice from one bottle of that Ol' Janx Spirit.
Pour into it one measure of water from the seas of Santraginus V.
Allow three cubes of Arcturan Mega-gin to melt into the mixture (it must be properly iced or the benzine is lost).
Allow four litres of Fallian marsh gas to bubble through it (in memory of all those happy Hikers who have died of pleasure in the Marshes of Fallia).
Over the back of a silver spoon float a measure of Qualactin Hypermint extract, redolent of all the heady odours of the dark Qualactin Zones; subtle sweet and mystic.
Drop in the tooth of an Algolian Suntiger. Watch it dissolve, spreading the fires of the Algolian Suns deep into the heart of the drink.
Sprinkle Zamphour.
Add an olive.
Drink... but... very carefully.

Douglas Adams' official recipe for the perfect Pangalactic Gargleblaster, described as the alcoholic equivalent of being mugged... expensive and very bad for the head! biggrin
At the end of the day, you can't beat a steaming mug of Tetleys!
coffee
Yer cant beat a good old Irish Cocktail
1) Pint of Guiness
2) Add Potato
Jack Daniels and coke for me
Corpse Reviver!!
1 measure of brandy
1 measure of Calvados
2 measures of sweet vermouth.
Guaranteed to make you forget the worst of days!
A more simple one - the good old pink gin. Swirl a couple of drops of Angostura Bitters around a glass. Throw it out if you must (I prefer to leave it in - it is only a MILD poison after all). Add ice and a measure of gin! Ahhhhhh!
Will
How about a warm blonde....but enough about me smile Thats equal parts of; Southern Comfort & Amaretto
Tiger Beer  brewed in Singapore.
I found it in Safeways recently.
I was weaned on the stuff and can remember getting drunk on it at about the age of 8 or 9!

Brandy Alexander
Ingredients
A few (not too many) Ice Cubes
Generous Measure of Brandy
Measure of Crème de Cacao
Two Tbsps of Cream
Grated Nutmeg
Instructions
Break the ice into coarse not crushed pieces and place in a shaker with the remaining ingredients except the nutmeg.
Shake until thoroughly blended.
Strain into cocktail glasses.
Sprinkle with a little grated nutmeg.
NB Don't forget to strain the ice or you will have a watery mess before you enjoy the last Drop
Many variants of this , but this is my favourite
Rum Punch
Shot of Black Seal Rum
Shot of Bicardi Gold Rum
Shot of Cockspur Rum
Grenadine (ounce or so)
Falernum (shot)
Orange juice
Pineapple juice
Lots of ice in tall glass
Mix all together and be transported to heaven (or hell after about 6 of the buggers)

I remember experimenting with this one and replacing the Creme de Cacao with Blue Curacao. The result was delicious. The name we came up with was a Blue Alexander. It's worth a try.
Not really a cocktail but my favourite drink has to be Leffe beer-you can get the sodding stuff everywhere and I used to think I was poash drinking you I was drinking it from a vase "a la potter"
when i was a kid (at least 5 years ago!!!!!) we used to club our pocket money together every friday night and buy a large bottle of red MD 20 20 and a bottle of peach concorde and mix them together.....it was so bad u almost had to hold ur nose to drink it!
its the only time i have been sick from the drinking, rather than the hangover!
