When is a Newbie not a Newbie?

I was wondering what the general consensus was on this topic. When does a newbie cease being a newbie?
Is it any of the following:
1) A specific number of posts
2) Has been a registered member of SH for a certain time
3) Has experienced action of some sort
4) Begins to contribute in helping new members
5) Other?

What do the more experienced members think? lol

Do I have an experienced enough member to comment ?
Who knows ?
But here it is.
1) No
2) No
3) Honestly ?? - I'd have to go to the steam room to answer that but it's a bit busy in there at the moment.
4) Whether you help someone or not is down to your own, character and personality.
5) Possibly
My own answer to the question?
When YOU don't feel like a "newbie"
I still occasionally feel like a newbie.
Maybe I might get one ??
5) Other
When you stop feeling like a newbie I'd say, which varies for each person depending on how comfortable they feel in the forum and/or how much they participate biggrin

Nice idea.
But - Newbie status is also kinda desginated by the other users of SH (whether they be other newbies or forum regulars/experienced swingers) and I feel that it's when THEY decide you've participated in 'SH' sufficiently to not be Newbie anymore! - which does entail regular posting on the forum, which does include 'getting yourself known' (and going to munch(es)) and generally playing an active part in SH.
Maybe there should be an option 6 - You are no longer newbie when you dont get baited, when people dont hijack your threads, when you can post without being jumped on and you know enough people from here to get to a munch and not walk in with that flashing neon Newbie hat on ??? wink :D
When you join in with the newbie pisstakes, and you aren't the one having the piss taken...
Seriously though.........
after about 10 years....
Newbie to the site doesn't mean newbie to life. Stop getting hung up on a name.
You will have knowledge and experience that others are interested in just share it and let people get to know the person not the tag.

if someone says something silly or contenous then i think is likely to be jumped on regardless... and i have seen this lot hijack everything from the serious to the mundane.... :) :) :) :) tend to be the same people..yes that means you happy cats and m2pu!!!!! :)

I agree completely, Nobody can know everything there is to know, I just wanted to put the idea down, I am definately not hung up on the tag. I will be a newbie until the day I die as I love to listen to others and learn from them and my own mistakes biggrin
(Someone is definately going to post I know it all) banghead

Absolutely, but I don't mind having the piss took out of me, that's all part of the banter.

I have only been a member for a short time but I love this site and you guys have been great! I have had nothing but support from people on here, so Thank you and I appreciate people answering my Threads. I hesitate before posting them sometimes but then I think, what the hell, that's what it is all about

A person stops being a newby in my eyes after their second post.
However, when they stop being a newby in their own eyes, is a totally different thing!

Nah, I don't really subscribe to the THEY philosophy, if people don't communicate with me it's because they don't want to, not because I haven't earned it.......but as I said, everyone's different, that's just how it is for me :D
I 've just realised that you're quite new here though so..........Hello! wave

Is Makosi still in the country? :dunno:
I have been here a while now but would still class myself as a newbie.
when you rip the piss out of MCB and nobody flames you but join in instead (about 3 days at a guess)
