When will distance searches return?

Hi all
Does anyone know when the facility to search profiles by distance from ones own location will be back. It's just without this feature most searches are pretty pointless unless you are someone who can travel vast distances at the drop of a hat.

It's still there if you access through the 'Photo Ads' tab above, rather than using the 'My Search' button on the right.

It doesn't seem to give any results no matter how broad i make the search, even though you can now put the mileage in.....or perhaps it's just mu incompetence...lol
