One of the things I love about this site is that there are so many different people from different backgrounds - a lot of whom are couples who seem to have very strong, happy relationships.
So, in the name of outright curiosity, I'd like to know:
Where, how and when did the couples who post to this site meet ?
CM
OK ... I have a history of bad relationships and was in a emotionally draining one when I met Pete (MorbiusUK on here).
We met in a nightclub, my buddy was chatting up his buddy and we got "pushed" together, danced, smooched, admitted we were in relationships etc. Pete came to see me at work on Monday saying he couldn't get me out of his mind and it progressed from there! Used to meet for lunch, afternoons off driving up to N Derbyshire wandering round getting to know each other.
He left his wife v shortly afterwards - like 4 weeks (nothing to do with me but marriage generally over) and I left my partner a couple of months later ... again not for him necessarily (relationship was a bad one and on it's last legs for a long time) but he helped me choose life!
Got engaged in the same nightclub, on stage with mic, and one knee job all on a busy saturday night (brave man), got married 2 years after meeting and had a quick wedding .. ie his divorce arrives and we book ours asap. Instead of having disco had evening in same club (aren't we incurable romantics???)
I met Mr novice in 1976 when he followed me round a supermarket and offered to carry my shopping. biggrin
We met at a club through mutual friends, both got extremely drunk and got it on,so to speak.
Couldnt remember much about each other the next day, possibly been drunk ever since.

(who's who again :haha: )
Daz's girlfriend of 5 years (Teresa) was my boyfriends (John) next door neighbour.
Daz and i had met a few times, and i'd let slip to Teresa that i wanted shaving but wasnt sure how to go about it, she offered Daz's services. (I'd like to add at this point that she was sleeping around)
I was at hers when the phone rang one day, it was Daz, but she was cooking so i took the phone. Daz basically told me how much he wanted me and how he was desparate to be with me,and i needed to get credit so we could talk properly. i did, we talked and about 4 days later i told him we'd go for had our first kiss (aw, bless) and were together for about 2 weeks before i was 100% sure, so he dumped Teresa, i dumped John, and here we are, 15 months on!! Needless to say, Teresa found out and i was under threat for a while, lol!!!!!! But we dont regret a second of it.
We met in a chatroom, and boy were the fates with us THAT day.
I (Jeff) had never been in the room before and was about to leave. Jules almost didn't come in as her gibbon needed painting but luckily the undercoat hadn't dried yet.
The woman I had got a date with whilst my girfriend was off in france pretending she wasn't humping the guy she knew that I knew she was humping (I must buy him a drink sometime) cried off at the last minute (are you keeping up?).
I didn't have any petrol for the car and no money to get any, so I had to walk to work and snaffle the keys for the company car...
That had no petrol.
I found in loose change, a half eaten cream egg, Shergar's left nad, a 1968 copy of Health and Efficiency, and a shekel down the back of the couch; and so the day was saved (ever driven 180 miles on motorways at 45 miles an hour to save petrol? I learned some exciting new gestures from truckers)...
Now, over two years later, we are married and have a small dog that can eat its own weight in carpet per day... If you see the Fates, tell em I want a chat.
We met in the local bus station - our eyes met over a bag of chips. lol
My best friend had arranged to meet her boyfriend there one evening before going on to the disco (yes it was the heady late 70's!).
She asked me to drop her off there in my car. It didn't occur to me that she could have taken the bus rolleyes We sat sharing a bag of chips while waiting for her bf to arrive.
I didn't know but he had arranged to bring one of his mates along. Jon didn't know about me being there either so it was a kind of blind date.
We were pushed together for the night and after a few drinks we all took my car to the beach for a midnight dip. They disappeared around the back of the beach huts and we climbed into a boat in the trailer park . . .
We were love struck teenagers! We got engaged almost straight away and married less than a year later.
24 years on and we're still having sex on the beach, but now it often includes several other guys at the same time
Sadly my mate and her guy broke up shortly afterwards and she is currently married to her third husband

Well I know quite a few people know the story but I'm gonna tell it anyway.....
I'd been single (mostly) for just short of 2 years when I joined here. I'd originally placed an ad in the Women seeking men section and received over 200 replies in the space of 24 hours. Deleted the ad and trawled through the replies and whittled it down over the next few days to ... well, one lol
He introduced me to the forum and I became a regular in the cafe. We put our names down jointly for the 2nd NW Munch and were really looking forward to meeting everyone. However, as can often happen in real life, he met someone local to him and decided he didn't want to attend the munch. Completely understandable to me, and no hard feelings but.....
Dilemma time!!! Do I bow out of the munch or go alone? As a single girl I was quite nervous about going alone but in the end (with quite a bit of persuasion from WBB!) I decided to go along anyway. I'd chatted to lots of people in the cafe by then and didn't really want to miss out on the party.
WBB and I were both nervous wrecks (and that's the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth!!) and ran in holding hands, straight to the toilets and then to the bar for VERY strong drinks! Once I'd calmed down and started chatting to people I found myself with a certain pink duck nestling in my cleavage (I love that duck!)
Se7endriver took quite an interest in the duck (well ok, more in where he was nestling to be fair!) and we've been seeing each other ever since :inlove:
That night I was just there to enjoy myself and meet the nutters I'd been conversing with over the previous month or so. The very last thing I expected to do was find myself a boyfriend! So it's true what they say about finding whatever it is you're looking for the minute you stop looking - and I'm glad I did biggrin

It's true folks, I was honoured to be a witness to that bit biggrin
Mike.
We first made contact in an internet chat room. Talked online and via the phone for a few months, I was reluctant to meet Paul as I am 16 years older than him. He adventually talked me into meeting him just to say hello and see if we got on as well in person as we did online. The meeting was very nerve racking but also very exciting. What I found the strangest was seeing him and chatting to him in person, I was used to his voice and recognised that but seeing the person the voice belonged to was very strange.
Anyway we are living together now and have been for the past 18 month so my concerns regarding our ages was very shortlived.
We both knew we had an interest in swinging because when you talk to each other as much as we did before actually meeting each other all our likes and dislikes, dreams and fantasys are discussed in full.

I`d post about Mars and I getting together, but seeing as I was till wearing school uniform at the time it`d probably break the AUP................
On that note I think I`ll scuttle off to bed! lol

I met my now wife while we were both at school I was 15 she was 14 we are still together and have been maried for 32 years
Reese and me met on a bulletin board, like this. Well, not quite like this, as it was a community of people doing distributed computing for cancer research.
We were both married. He in the US, me in the UK. There was no option, we had a bond.
Now living happily together and unable to really remember not knowing eachother.
