strangely - even buildings sometimes work for me - ever stood somewhere like saint pauls cathedral and just STARED up and lost yourself?
I've also done the same staring up at the sky on a starry clear night.

That is true, Bristol does have some "Corrrr look at that" buildings. Though sadly seeing a stary night is pretty much impossible from Bristol, too much light polution sad

bring back the good old days of candle power! smile

Now the countryside, well, much can be said about it... need it really go into it?! ;)

Failing that, speaking as a designer myself, find something obscure that the client would like and steal the ideas :twisted:

had a look, thanks Mister (heh) I think after following as much advice as possible, I feel those little sparx tingeling in the back of my brain...of course... that could just be the remenents of early this evening when I almost electrocuted myself. But that's another story for another day...
UPDATE: it's now 7:30am I am in last night's clothes, I haven't slept. and the night's worth of stress has given me wonderfully ugly spots on my face. gag. Still want to hear more of what inspires everyone... how you all break out of ruts etc...

I had to build a better pop-up advertisement in Flash (it kills me that I have to design popups as I hate them with a passion) I was given verrrrrrrrrrry vague directions, as per usual. The name of the game is reading my boss's mind and figuring out what she wants thru trial and error. It's not as much fun as it all sounds, belive me.
yes I know. You thought the project was going to be something MUCH more complicated and important... sigh...

So I guess all the Landscapes, Nature, music etc etc didn't really hel;p much when it came to pop-ups lol

If it's any help - I have a pop-up here that you are more than welcome to study - although i'm not really sure you'd get much inspiration from it redface

and re: cricket bat: well normally I'd reach for my baseball bat, but I didn't want to say so and get told off about how you don't play that game here etc... Besides, cricket bats are more aerodynamic. Don't know how well the fare in a fight against a titanium metal baseball bat tho. anyone want to help me run a test?
