... would you choose to be a teenager in?
I'm not sure which I'd choose to be honest, but there are 3 I'd waver between.
1950s America always looks quite fun, with the big circle skirts, high heels and bobby socks, great make up and the whole teenage rebellion thing going on.
The 1960s also would probably have been cool, all that free love and great music - I think I'd have enjoyed that time a lot.
I was a teenager in the 80s though, and as much as I laugh now at pictures from then, the music was brill and I loved the fashions at the time (yes, they're totally cringeworthy now, but I was cool then cool and I don't care what anyone says to the contrary lol)
Which would you choose?
now would be good, because I'd like gun

Hate to be the bearer of bad news ROLP, but it's not the 20th century any more :lol2:

a man out-of-time.... thankgoodness for that.
I have good memories of the 70's, but I wasn't a 'propper' teenager to appreciate them.
so I quite fancy the idea of hitting mid-late teens in the late sixties... and going on through the seventies with more 'spirit' than I had.
space cadet to metal guru to anarchiyyst in a few easy years.

The seventies or eighties - loved them the first time around!
Exactly the decade I was a teen in... the 80's. I'd hate to be a teen today and in fact if I had the choice - right now, I'd be a teen right back in the 80's again!
I was a teenager in the 70s and that decade rocked
The 60s because of kinky boots and mini skirts (god bless Mary Quant).
70s for me
I would have liked to have been 2 or 3 years older to have been into music as the punk scene exploded.
I'm having real trouble deciding. confused
I think the 50's/60's would have been fun. However, chances are I'd plump for being born just a little bit earlier, so I could have made the most of the hedonistic 80's...I was 16 when the 80's turned to 90's.
It did bring about a very selfish age I think- but the early 80's (PRE-Acid House &Stock/Aitken/Waterman rolleyes ) had some great music, weird clothes, and was generally rather cool.
It was acceptable in the 80's cool

same as ben
I would have liked to have been a teenager or maybe in my early twenties in the late 70s early 80s in New York. I wish I'd been there for the start of the disco scene... much more my thing than punk am afraid! I would've loved to dance all night at the Attic or Studio 54.
If I couldn't do a continent swap - as well as a major shift in the time-space continuum - then I'd settle for being a teenager here in the 1980s. I was born in the late 70s and much as I was a tad precocious and had all the fashion and the gadgets as a kid, being able to have gone out to nightclubs and gigs and stuff would've been cool.
Either the 60's or 70's. Great music and a relaxed attitude to sex (not to mentions what are now called 'class C substances').
The spectre of AIDS frightened this early 80's teenager to death. So many rumours and falsehoods were about that it was difficult to seperate fact from fiction. For a time, it was thought that drinking from the same glass might pass it on, so one night stands were definately out (I've always hated condoms smile ).
I was a teenager in the mid to late 80s and I don't think I'd change it, except for maybe the 30s as women (of a certain social/financial standing) had an awful lot of freedom and new experiences then compared to previous and some later decades.
I loved the 80s though, even the dodgy parts of it were great! lol
