just had to put my car in to have a few problems fixed. It could only be done by Audi main dealer as they are the only ones who could set ecu codes. Guess what.... 2days later £540 lighter. Aaaargh. mad

It's a bit late now sad but that's bollocks. And decent specialist, and there are dozens, can interrogate the ECU. Providing the car's out of warranty there's no good reason to have it serviced at VAG prices
Why the main dealer bassman? Any company who service modern cars and are an engine diagnostic place would of had the software to do it.
They have to have it or they couldnt repair cars and reset enging managment faults
Sorry to hear how much it cost you sad
Main dealer wasn't my first choice but the specialists I took it to couldn't find the fault and suggested I go to main dealer. But as usual they found other problems which helped inflate the cost.
When will I ever learn sad
Torn between keeping the car (having spent the money) or palming it off onto Ex. seeing as MOT is due soon and it's bound to be an expensive one.
Ex thinks she should have the main family car instead of escort (which I'm still paying for)
Who'd get married eh? rolleyes

 That's really unfortunate, especially with it's future in question sad

Well, seeing as how she wants the Audi sooooo badly, it's only fair that you let her have it...
