You sometimes need to thin it. If you want the hair on top to end at the same length as that on the back of your head, the lower hair needs cutting..
And like S&P said, dead ends. My GHD's are't the best thing for my hair, but I still use them.

I spend just as much as a woman on my hair..can't believe I'm telling you this. It's a good way to spend 2 and a half hours. You have to look your best. Don't you?
