I've just got out of bed because I woke up about 5:30 with a searing pain in my back and could settle. I have a riding lesson this morning so it would be better if I could walk it off or get rid of it in some way. Came down for a cup of tea and a fag and thelaptop waved at me from the coffee table so here I am.
I've noticed a couple of posts being made and wondered; "what on earth are you doing up at this ungodly hour"
So - What on earth are you doing up at this ungodly hour?

Ah yes. The joys of parenthood.
Maybe that's why I've got a bad back. Years of being dig'd by MkII's elbow at various early am hours.
It's easier now though. Apparently all I have to do is empty my wallet now and then, and threaten unsuitable potential boyfriends ! ! ! !
Cos I am off to France to cycle for a week and have to pack and do other silly chores and things ...... so a rest from me for the rest of you ...... and also to look at a certain thread to see if a certain person had come off her high horse (answer: just slightly)

Hmmm my joys right now are full of tantrums, and the favourite of my eldest is "I dont want to be a little girl,I want to be a grown up,then i can do what I want"Oh such fun!! lol

I don't know who/where/what, but I think there's been a little too much of that lately - myself included. Maybe it's the time of year?
Enjoy your hols.
I've been up since m. - do that most days as I find I can work better in the early morning and sort things out more. lol Mind you I can be found asleep on the couch at around m. most afternoons in compensation!! biggrin
Been planning for a training day I'm leading tomorrow (first day of new term  ).
Hope your back eases off - have you tried a hot water bottle against it??

No, she's asleep and she was so good last night, I don't want to disturb her
I think I need to shed a few(??) of the extra pounds I've put on lately. I'm gunna get dressed and stretch my legs in a bit. That usually does the trick, and loosens me up for my lesson. If it doesn't; at least I won't get a b*ll*cking for not being straight - I can hardly bend at all just now. lol
Insomnia
Enjoy your riding dambuster ...... wonder if i'll ever start riding again? doubt it, but as i was taught properly (guy trained Spanish Riding School horses) as a child, I guess it's something I'll never forget and could restart even in my fast-approaching dotage when i am banned from scuba diving ...... now there's a great sport in warm waters even if, like me, you swim like a brick!

I always enjoy it. Even the tumbles. I particulary enjoy it when C lets/makes me ride her boy. He's a youngster compared to chap I lost recently and therefore a little more 'fizzy'
I took it as was a massive compliment when she asked if I wanted to ride him. She made it conditional though (she's a woman) that I had to do some jumping.
I used to hack fairly regularly in my teens and there is a certain amount of the 'it's like riding a bike' thing about it. But C re-introduced me to it 3 or 4 years ago and now I've really been bitten by the bug. So much so I'm considering changing job so that I can be around more and buy another.
In fact - (cards on table) And 'she' doesn't know this yet, but when she's gone I'm thinking of a complete lifestyle change. Sell the house, downsize, take the money, change job; the whole bag o' mashings; so I can be able to Diy livery if not get a paddock and spend as much time at it as I did last year. (Took last year off work)
There. I've said it.
Good for you Dambuster,i hope that it all goes to plan!!!!
smile
it is now gone 10:30ish and I am still thinking it is an ungodly hour... and then look back at the time thread was started and think by fuck... I was probably just going bed then that was why I wa up however I wasn't on-line so this was really a useless piece of info and I am just waffling!!!

Same here Dambuster, but due to one thing and another I hadn't ridden for about 10 years..... that is until Thursday just gone.....
Steve and I were on our holidays and a friend of the family live about 10 miles from where we were staying, so we popped over.... They have about 20 horses and one of them is a horse that used to belong to my sister. I had always wanted to ride him but was not allowed.... But I have now fulfilled my wish and got to ride both him and another beautiful horse....
It all came flooding back to me, what I had forgotten was the fact that you can never have enough padding in the bottom region and how many muscles you use whilst riding.... needless to say, I spent 2 days hardly able to walk and Steve rolling about laughing at me.... It was worth every ache and pain though just to be able to get back in the saddle and ride again....
Personally I would put horse riding as one of the most addictive things you can do....
