Of course, it depends how you define 'strong'.
For me, a strong person of any flavour is clear about what they want in life, don't feel the need to trample on the vulnurable nor to front up to the powerful. They are courteous and consistent in their treatment of others and expect the same back.
I know I don't qualify for a lot of that - certainly not the consistent bit. But I'd like to aspire to it.

I like that foxy.
I have been doing a lot about emotional intelligence lately which may have got me onto this in the first place. I suppose part of me recognises that to connect with someone I need be more emotionaly intellignet about my responses but when i have had a pint of wine that all seems to go out the window ......

Since my marriage break up (my choice) I have thought far more about what I want, what others motives are and been really interested in the power we have to move our lives in a direction we need. TBH I wonder what my marriage would have been like if I had done all that thinking a lot earlier on. But I spent the first 40 years of my life drifting with almost no thought beyond being able to pay the bills. But there you go - life is for learning from.
