If it's any consolation, you're not alone.
I thought my name was fairly non gender-specific, but people often assume without asking that I'm female.
Apparently the word "Pie" has connotations I wasn't previously aware of. dunno

Couple of things ... Initially I assumed that you were female from the name ... it was only during a post you made that I realised you weren't.
And as for going to the trouble of viewing the ads ... erm not all of us are looking for partners, so no not everyone takes the trouble. That's an assumption from you that we are all looking for sex ... some people on here aren't and are here purely for the friendship.

Hi Calista. I think it's reasonable to assume that when people post in Let's Meet Up they're looking for sex.
The cafe's the place I feel is for making friendships. I'm not having a go at anyone in a nasty way (very much tongue in cheek in fact)

I thought you were female until I looked at your profile! The word 'slut' is after all a feminine noun. However, you could post a pic of yourself on you're avatar or change your name to what I call you, "Eagerbutt"! Perhaps that might be a more accurate description of your preferences. lol
