True - it was rumoured but there's a big difference between this and somebody going official with in when they are in the public eye. Rock Hudson, George Michael etc are all testament to that. I remember when George Michael was found in those loo's in LA and the press were like 'OMG!' - me and my mates that I was having dinner with at the time were like 'you mean they didn't know already?'
Now...I'm just waiting patiently for Ben Cohen and Lawrence Dalagllio to do the decent thing and come out too... I think I may be waiting for some time though wink Although there is a LD lookalike around lol
If anyone was going to come out as gay, then it needs to be someone near the top of there sport to survive being the first to come up...
The reaction to Gareth Thomas coming out has been great, because he has a great career, so he can't be bashed for it, there have been other gay sportmen that have come out in the past few years....
Donal og cusack came out 6 weeks ago... one of the top people in Hurling in Ireland came out
John Amaechi... argueably the best british person ever to play basketball came out about 2 years ago, a lot of people supported him, but there were a lot of people who make ignorant comments and that why I don't think more come out....
sean xxx
p.s the aussie Rugby league player you were talking about earlier was Ian Roberts...
Justin Fashanu............. times have moved on- thankfully.
That clinches it I'm definitely not gay because I hate Mama Mia too.......I do like Cabaret though, does this make me bi ??
God rest Justin Fashanu. When he came out his soccer team sacked him, family rejected him, newspapers attacked him and he eventually committed suicide.
RIP Justin
